SWINGSETS
ByTrey
Holes hand dug by a
machete! A second one was built to
the right. Don’t know who enjoyed
it more…staff or children?
This is the preschool room where sewing classes are also held! In this room we painted
the letters of the alphabet above the blackboard with a
picture every other letter and shapes with color words below
the blackboard.
This is the team room, where teams hang out and plan activities. Also an all-purpose room
when needed!
A room to be used by ladies in our program as needed on an emergency basis only…for 3 months
max!
Trey made these homemade ladders!
This used to be Amani Baby Cottage. Once HEAL
acquired it we did some much needed upgrades and
renovations to make it more suitable to our programs.
Tina lives on the upper level. Also up there is the interns bedroom and a room for couples or leaders to stay in.
These are bamboo logs that Trey used in
building the tree house. They have been stained. In the background is the Gecko House, where our
English and business classes are held. Also
further back is the building where Trey
lives.

Oh, howthese preciousladies love to worship Jesus!
Even sweet Angelina, with full blown AIDS, exudes the joy of the Lord!
Betty trying to teach Vicky how to move her hips Ugandan style!
While working with the
Lipscomb team, we helped the
ladies tell their stories…partly
through creative arts!
For many it was the first time they had ever held even a crayon! At first
they were timid; by day 2 they were quite creative in sharing their stories!
It was incredible!
Abraham’s wife is dying from AIDS so he asked if he could be a part of the ladies Bible study. The ladies welcome him with open arms.

The education given to the Mamas of
these precious children is life-saving.
They are required to do
chores as well…to assume
responsbilityand take
ownership in the solutions.
Outdoor cooking area at SHC! This is a very nice facility. Poor Mama in the photo is ready to
delivery any minute!
Heavy-duty pots over an open
flame! SHC is very cognizant of
nutrients needed by the children AND Mamas!
View of Lake Victoria from Serving His
Children. Even though it’s in a slum it’s a very
nice facility.
Some of the Mamas doing laundry outdoors!
Fazira
Tina met Fazira when she was a Muslim and single Mom of several
children. She invited Fazira to church the following Sunday. Tina and a driver picked her up and took her to church. When the pastor gave
an altar call that morning, Faziratook Tina’s hand and asked if she
would walk the aisle with her.
She invited Jesus to be her Savior that day. Since then she has taken in
another child and is pregnant with her 5th child.
She is pictured here with a print of a painting I did of she and one of her
children.
The building where Faziracooks, across from her little home.
The stove/oven she cooks on.
Bath time…and not necessarily a happy time!

Jesus loves the little children of the world!
We went to visit Richard’s Jaja, who is dying of AIDS. Richard lives at Amani Baby Cottage. Tina takes him to Jaja’s village to visit from time to time.
Tina takes food & staples to Jaja; Jaja gives Richard gifts of fruit to take back to Amani. Here we are pictured in her hut sitting on her bed!
Children from Jaja’s village, coming around to see the Muzungus!
All of Jaja’s children have died of AIDS. Their graves behind her house. This is of Richard’s mothers grave! So precious; yet so so sad!
Last year our team painted these murals at Amani. So cute the way
they have done them!
I adore this room at ABC! Next year I may paint a shadow of Peter Pan & Tinker Bell!
