John 14:1-6

John 14:1-6 - “Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me. 2There is more than enough

room in my Father’s home. If this were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? 3When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am.

4And you know the way to where I am going.” 5“No, we don’t know, Lord,” Thomas said. “We have no idea where

you are going, so how can we know the way?” 6Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me. NLT

Why Was Jesus Comforting His Disciples?

his waist, 5and poured water into a basin. Then he began to wash the disciples’ feet, drying them with the towel he had around him. NLT

one of you will betray me!" 22The disciples looked at each other, wondering whom he could mean. NLT

John 13:33 - Dear children, I will be with you only a little longer. And as I told the

John 13:36-38 - Simon Peter asked, “Lord, where are you going?” And Jesus replied,

“You can’t go with me now, but you will follow me later.” 37“But why can’t I come now, Lord?” he asked. “I’m ready to die for you.”

38Jesus answered, “Die for me? I tell you the truth, Peter

—before the rooster crows tomorrow morning, you will deny three times that you even know me. NLT

Matthew 6:33-34 - Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything

you need. 34“So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today. NLT

Jesus’ separation would not be permanent

John 14:2-3 - There is more than enough room in my Father’s home. If this were not so, would I have told you

that I am going to prepare a place for you? 3When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am. NLT

John 17:24 - Father, I want these whom you have given me to be with me where I am.

Then they can see all the glory you gave me because you loved me even before the world began! NLT

Revelation 21:3-4 - I heard a loud shout from the throne, saying, “Look, God’s home is now among his people! God

himself will be with them. 4He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever.” NLT

Jesus’ coming back to take us home is the

Rapture

1 Corinthians 15:51-54 - But let me reveal to you a wonderful secret. We will not all die, but we will all be

transformed! 52It will happen in a moment, in the blink of an eye, when the last trumpet is blown. For when the trumpet sounds, those who have died will be raised to live forever.

And we who are living will also be transformed. 53For our dying bodies must be

transformed into bodies that will never die; our mortal bodies must be transformed into immortal bodies.

54Then, when our dying bodies have been transformed into bodies that will never die,

this Scripture will be fulfilled: “Death is swallowed up in victory. NLT

idea where you are going, so how can we know the way?” 6Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me. NLT

John 7:33 – But Jesus told them, “I will be with you only a

little longer. Then I will return to the one who sent me. NLT

The

WAY

John 10:7-9 - ... “I tell you the truth, I am the gate for the sheep. 8All who came before

me were thieves and robbers. But the true sheep did not listen to them. 9Yes, I am the gate. Those who come in through me will be saved. ... NLT

Matthew 7:13-14 - “You can enter God’s Kingdom only through the narrow gate. The highway to hell is broad, and

its gate is wide for the many who choose that way. 14But the gateway to life is very narrow and the road is difficult, and only a few ever find it. NLT

Acts 24:14 - “But I admit that I follow the Way, which they

call a cult. I worship the God of our ancestors, and I firmly believe the Jewish law and everything written in the prophets. NLT

Acts 4:12 - There is salvation in no one else! God has

given no other name under heaven by which we must be saved.” NLT

Mediator who can reconcile God and humanity—the man Christ Jesus. NLT

TRUTH

John 18:37 - Pilate said, “So you are a king?” Jesus responded, “You say I am

a king. Actually, I was born and came into the world to testify to the truth. All who love the truth recognize that what I say is true.” NLT

The

LIFE

John 5:26 - The Father has life in himself, and he has

granted that same life-giving power to his Son. NLT

John 20:31 - But these are written so that you may continue to believe that

Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing in him you will have life by the power of his name. NLT
