• How you serve the Lord Jesus in this life depends on your attitude.  In the Lord's eyes attitude is everything.  It is not how much you do that is important but the attitude with which you do it. 

• The Lord Jesus Christ wants you to have an attentive, loving and caring heart and He can only give this to you as you yield every area of your life to Him.  With the help of the Holy Spirit, you will desire to apply God's Word to your daily life.

John 4:23  But a time is coming — and now is here — when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father seeks such people to be his worshipers.

What will cause you to want to obey God's Word?

Colossians 3:2  Keep thinking about things above, not things on the earth,

What are you to love most of all?

Act 9:6  But stand up and enter the city and you will be told what you must do.“

What question should you ask the Lord each morning?

1 Corinthians 6:19  Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?

Why is your body so important?

1 Corinthians 6:20  For you were bought at a price. Therefore glorify God with your body.

What are you to do with you body?

Romans 12:1  Therefore I exhort you, brothers and sisters, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a sacrifice — alive, holy, and pleasing to God — which is your reasonable service.

What does the Lord beg you to do in Romans 12:1?

Ephesians 2:19-22  So then you are no longer foreigners and non-citizens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints and members of God's household,  (20)  because you have been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the cornerstone. (21)  In him the whole building, being joined together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord,  (22)  in whom you also are being built together into a dwelling place of God in the Spirit.

What are you, together with all other real Christians?

Hebrews 12:2-3  keeping our eyes fixed on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of our faith. For the joy set out for him he endured the cross, disregarding its shame, and has taken his seat at the right hand of the throne of God. (3)  Think of him who endured such opposition against himself by sinners, so that you may not grow weary in your souls and give up.

Because you will have difficulties and problems, what are you to do so that your attitude will remain correct?

1 Thessalonians 3:12  And may the Lord cause you to increase and abound in love for one another and for all, just as we do for you,

Can you grow in your ability to love?

1 John 4:19  We love because he loved us first.

What causes you to love the Lord Jesus Christ?

Ephesians 4:2  with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love,

Ephesians 4:32  Instead, be kind to one another, compassionate, forgiving one another, just as God in Christ also forgave you.

What attitude are you to have toward others?

John 13:35  Everyone will know by this that you are my disciples — if you have love for one another."

How can people tell you are a Christian?

1Thessalonians 5:14-22  And we urge you, brothers and sisters, admonish the undisciplined, comfort the discouraged, help the weak, be patient toward all.  (15)  See that no one pays back evil for evil to anyone, but always pursue what is good for one another and for all.  (16)  Always rejoice, (17) constantly pray, (18) in everything give thanks. For this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.  (19)  Do not extinguish the Spirit.  (20)  Do not treat prophecies with contempt.  (21)  But examine all things; hold fast to what is good.  (22)  Stay away from every form of evil.

What five things are you to be in you life as a Christian?

Colossians 3:13 bearing with one another and forgiving one another, if someone happens to have a complaint against anyone else. Just as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also forgive others.

If someone has a quarrel against you, what are you to do?

Colossians 3:15 Let the peace of Christ be in control in your heart (for you were in fact called as one body to this peace), and be thankful.

What should rule you heart?

Col. 3:16  Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and exhorting one another with all wisdom, singing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, all with grace in your hearts to God.

What 4 things are you to do?

Col 3:17  And whatever you do in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

Col 3:23 Whatever you are doing, work at it with enthusiasm, as to the Lord and not for people,

How are you to do the dishes, do your homework, brush your teeth, eat your meals, clean the house, and do your daily tasks?

Colossians 3:14  And to all these virtues add love, which is the perfect bond.

What is most important to have in your Christian life?

Heb 13:17 Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they keep watch over your souls and will give an account for their work. Let them do this with joy and not with complaints, for this would be no advantage for you.

If you really love the Lord, what will you do?

1 Cor. 13:1-8  If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but I do not have love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.  (2)  And if I have prophecy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith so that I can remove mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing.  (3)  If I give away everything I own, and if I give over my body in order to boast, but do not have love, I receive no benefit.  (4)  Love is patient, love is kind, it is not envious. Love does not brag, it is not puffed up.

(5)  It is not rude, it is not self-serving, it is not easily angered or resentful.  (6)  It is not glad about injustice, but rejoices in the truth.  (7)  It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.  (8)  Love never ends. But if there are prophecies, they will be set aside; if there are tongues, they will cease; if there is knowledge, it will be set aside.

The word "charity" in I Corinthians 13 really means "love". Name 7 positive things love will do and 9 negative things it will not do.

What is good and pleasant to a Christian?

Psalm 122:1 I was glad because they said to me, "We will go to the Lord's temple."

What should make you glad?

Heb 10:25  not abandoning our own meetings, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging each other, and even more so because you see the day drawing near.

The Lord Jesus Christ wants you to be with other Christians. What does He tell us not to do?

Psalm 138:2 I will bow down toward your holy temple, and give thanks to your name, because of your loyal love and faithfulness, for you have exalted your promise above the entire sky.

Galatians 6:2 Carry one another's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.

Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not rely on your own understanding. (6)  Acknowledge him in all your ways,   and he will make your paths straight.

2 Ti 2:15  Make every effort to present yourself before God as a proven worker who does not need to be ashamed, teaching the message of truth accurately.

• Psalm 35:9  Then I will rejoice in the Lord and be happy because of his deliverance.

James 4:7 So submit to God. But resist the devil and he will flee from you.

Romans 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is God's power for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.

1 Peter 2:13 Be subject to every human institution for the Lord's sake, whether to a king as supreme

1 Peter 2:17-18 Honor all people, love the family of believers, fear God, honor the king.  (18)  Slaves, be subject to your masters with all reverence, not only to those who are good and gentle, but also to those who are perverse.

Act 16:15 After she and her household were baptized, she urged us, "If you consider me to be a believer in the Lord, come and stay in my house." And she persuaded us.

Mark 16:15 He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.

What will be the result of yielding to a most gracious, loving Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ? I John 1:4

At the moment you trusted in Jesus Christ as your Savior, you received the Holy Spirit, (Ephesians 1:13,14; I John 5:6,10) and He dwells within

your heart and life.

He gives you the power to serve and love the Savior through the Word

(Ephesians 6:17).  Pray daily; read God's Word; by faith practice it in your life, daily praying for wisdom

and understanding - THAT'S JOY!!!
