Confidence is… A belief or conviction that an outcome will be

favorable

(we know the end of the story…we are victorious)

Belief in the certainty of something

(Father God, Jesus, & the Holy Spirit…and the Power that gives us)

Belief in the effectiveness of one’s own abilities

(Not what I say I am…but what He says I am)

Confidence is in the Word Proverbs 3:26

For the Lord will be your CONFIDENCE, and keep your foot from being snared.

Jeremiah 17:7 Cursed is the one who trusts in man…but Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose CONFIDENCE is in Him.

Hebrews10:35-37 So do not throw away your CONFIDENCE; it will be richly rewarded. You need to persevere, so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what He has promised.

1John 5:13-15 This is the CONFIDENCE we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know He hears us- whatever we ask- we KNOW that we have what we asked of Him.

Belief + Action How many of us know/believe God paid it all so

we are Victorious?

How many of us believe it is a personal promise He made to you?

How many of us do something each day to get up and walk in that promise?

Confidence isn’t built on the sidelines. The only thing you will find sitting next to you on the sidelines, is fear, doubt & unbelief!

Take Inventory This is an inventory about YOU… share with a partner at your table

Start with your past accomplishments. Reflect back over your life and think of a time when you did something really well, and made a significant difference in your own life or the lives of others. Perhaps it was something you thought was impossible to do. Write down the details of this experience.

Next, compile a list of your skills and your expertise. These are things that you can do, or know about to a greater extent than the average person. You don't have to be the best in the world at it - just better than most other people you know. Look at your hobbies, the books and magazines you read, the things you enjoy at work, the things you are passionately interested in. You'll find a whole list of things that are uniquely YOU.

You'll be amazed at how this simple exercise will change your perception. Just reminding yourself of your personal GOD-GIVEN assets will help you to step up and participate in opportunities that you may otherwise overlook. It will make you more confident, competent and resourceful. Try it and see for yourself.
