Catalyst Church launched in 2009 as a portable church. They currently meet in a middle school auditorium but have begun working hard to move into

their own building.

The building previously was a car dealership. It sat unused on Newfield Street for several years before Pastor Michael Larkin set his sites on it for

the new location.

Jamie Bragg, connections pastor at Catalyst Church grew up working construction with his father, and now leads the team during this build.

Demolishing and constructing a building from scratch requires certain jobs to be done by licensed pros but most of the labor was done by people

volunteering their time.

The front doors had to be moved to the side of the building and the cement pad leading up to the doors is being remade.

Donny Wilson, a local graphic designer and church member at Catalyst, picked up some drywall hanging skills during the construction on the

building.

Elmer Berghorn, another volunteer and church member, has worked tirelessly often staying until 11 or 12 p.m. working on taping, mudding, and

sanding the drywall.

Randi Plake, the leader of the children’s ministry at Catalyst, steps in every Saturday morning to help with the construction.

The tentative launch date for the new building is Easter 2014 which is on April 20th this year.

Everyone is looking forward to the Easter launch. Even Aidan Larkin, the pastor’s son, is dreaming of the parking lot filled with cars come April 20th.
