The Bangladesh Journey

Our arrival in Bangladesh began in a town

called Sunamganj . Further on in the trip we

were fortunate to make it to Coxs Bazaar

which is located at the Burmese Boarder.

SunamgunjIn Sunamgunj, there was a new development Madressah that took care of 125 students. This town has been

affected by a lot of poverty and long term projects are essential.

the first place. Right Bottom: An elderly woman who has been deprived of nourishment.

Food Parcels We personally prepared the food parcels assisted by other

brothers and students.

The parcels contained:

10 KG rice

2 KG Lentils

2 Litres of Oil

2 KG of Channa

1 KG of Sugar

1 Kilo of Local Dish

This is how the parcels were given, once packed

The distribution of parcels was administered in a very organised manner. In the villages surrounded

Sunamgunj Aleems selected to pick locals that were eligible for zakaat .The system used, was very efficient

and professionally executed.

You can see the poverty is strife, this woman is picking up individual grains from the floor that was left during

the preparations of the parcels

Refugee Camps

We travelled to the southern tip of Bangladesh,

located close to the Bangladesh-Burmese

boarder. We did not see mass volumes of new

refugees as described within the news, however

there were many families which originated from

Burma, living in harsh conditions for the last 20

years. There is no doubt that there are serious

problems within Burma.

A Woman With A Tale. A Victim of the Burma

Crisis. A tragic tale to tell, this

lady escaped from Burma

after her house was burnt

down. She managed to

flee with her husband and

her son, loosing her other

two children in the fire.

Fortunately, a brother from

Birmingham became

aware of her existence

within the refugee camps

and realised how vital it

was that she gets

immediate medical

attention. He registered

her into a private hospital.

Cox Bazaar Food Distribution

We did organise food parcels for these refugees, unfortunately we ran out of time and were unable to

distribute them. We have left this duty in the hands of other responsible brothers to complete the task. The

above are examples of another group distributing their supplies (ours would be executed in a similar way).

Our Intention is that in the future we will form a charity and persist our efforts to assist and help out our

brothers & sisters. We appreciate your support and pray that you are blessed with Barakat so that your generosity

can continue to help those less fortunate and in need. In sha Allah.
