Accrued Benefits:Reusable Learning Outcomes

1. Groups, especially distressed groups, prefer visual planning over text-based planning

2. Visual planning artifacts quickly become reference artifacts for strategic planning in addition to more detailed planning

3. Quantifying visually is less intimidating than seeking quantified metrics (especially for “Undone” work)

4. Visual planning is more enjoyable (and the more joy people experience at work, the more prolific they become)

Apply Liberally:Adoption Recommendations

1. Engage: Ensure you’re using diverse and wide audiences (especially junior and new staff)

2. Maintain: Keep your artifacts on an Intranet, wiki, etc. and post in public spaces as anchor points

3. Re-use: Continue to re-use (especially detailed mind maps) to demonstrate progress and delivery

4. Refine: Continue to follow tool and methodology evolutions and releases

5. Experiment: What works for one team, group, or company may or may not work for another
