Advanced Feature Printer Profiles

UniPrint™ Printer Profiles is an innovative utility that enables IT administrators to create profiles per printer or driver. These profiles can contain a single or group of special settings which can be applied when a user prints.

Advanced features of multifunction printers (MFPs) such as stapling and hole-punching are captured in a profile and applied at print. In effect, Printer Profiling allows UniPrint Infinity customers to move to a universal printer driver solution without losing these printer properties.

How It Works

Figure 1 shows the UniPrint GUI-based Printer Profiles utility. IT administrators can create custom profiles and then users who require special or a specific group of printer properties can select a profile before clicking print.

For green-focused organizations, administrators can create a default printer profile named “ECO” or “GREEN”. This profile can have settings with a low DPI, B & W, and duplex to ensure more eco- or environmental-friendly printing. Users can also select a different printer profile to print at a higher resolution and/or color.
