WHAT IS A DESKTOP CLOUD DRIVE?

The Drive is similar to any network drive that can added via Mac or Windows except the remote volume in this instance is OpenStack Swift. The Drive enables remote files to be browsed and open with any application and, to a user it works similar to a local volume.

The Storage Made Easy OpenStack Drive enables users to mount OpenStack Swift as a local disk in Finder on Mac and in the File Explorer on Windows.

Hundreds of companies and ISP’s are using the SME full Enterprise File Share and Sync solution for OpenStack1 and we have long been approached by companies asking if it were possible, for more simplified use cases, to simply have a dedicated drive option for connectivity to OpenStack Swift, that works as a direct connection from a users desktop.
