What Should we do?

New T&E solution required• Default choice: Concur• On-prem only, if strong arguments based on legal or

biz requirements and postponement not possible

SAP on-prem is in place• Default choice: wait and watch integration• Switch to Concur, if large investment in on-prem

solution required

The 3 process phases

• Pre-trip:– Concur is miles ahead in vendor integration

• In-trip:– Tripit App does help your travellers “on the road”

• Post-trip:– Both solutions cover the process well– Concur: central object = “Claim” per-diem issue– On-prem: central object = “Trip”

Localisation

• SAP on-prem:– Strong in payroll integration– Expense legislation

like German Public Sector• Concur– Very good out-of-the box support for local VAT

peculiarities, e.g. in the UK:• Asks whether meal is take away or not • Asks whether parking is on or off street• Guides you through receipt allocation for mileage VAT-

reclaim

The Organisation

Concur

• Comes across as very American – very salesy, possibly “loud” for European standards

• Mixed messages about role of agencies

• Still struggling with Service Partner concept

• Very protective of core solution• Very good with solution partners

SAP on-prem

• Some customers complain about elements of Americanisation

• Understand typical corporate ERP customers and their desire to be in control

• Very open about the core solution• Not many solution partners

Key Points to Take Home

• Concur is fully playing to the strengths of cloud architecture in– vendor integration– additional services– Mobile apps

• For very bespoke requirements in Workflow, per diem calculations or posting you need to check carefully, whether Concur can do it

• You can probably deploy Concur twice as fast as on-prem• Concur-SAP integration exists, but needs to (and will) improve• Concur as an organisation is still coming to grips with the typical SAP

customer and the SAP universe• Concur is almost certainly the best long-term option and probably a good

starting point for the cloud
