0The target audience to our thriller is around the 15+ mark. We felt this is a suitable target as it does contain adult themes which may go over some younger viewers heads.

0 It is a high concept idea which would be in the interest of many teenagers and adults to go and watch.

0 The market is always looking for fresh and innovative ideas and I feel our movie can achieve this status. The significance of the mobile phone makes it different to other thriller

0 As a thriller it ticks all the boxes, e.g Villain and Victim and Hero. The example in our movie is Katie (victim) and Tommy (killer)

D1STR1BUTI0N0Distribution is a key aspect of the films

release. It determines whether the film is a success or not. Most films released by larger companies tend to have a big budget and usually do very well in the Box Office.

For example ‘One Missed Call’In December 2007, the official website was launched as well as numerous websites running competitions to promote the film with the first prize being an Apple iPhone.

Global Status

0 To successfully distribute a product globally the company needs to be of a large scale or have large marketing contacts.

0 Our movie would not be able to achieve this status as it is an independent British production with limited funding. Also the cast list isn’t ‘A-list’ therefore its difficult to gain a large following.

0 Although our story line and concept is enough to capture global attention if it is promoted and distributed in the correct way.

‘One Missed Call’

‘One Missed Call’ was a horror/thriller movie released by Warner Bros. It was a huge budget movie compared to our movie but it is still a very similar concept. I feel our movie has the ability to be able to achieve the status this movie achieved but we would use a different company to distribute it.

Who would we want to Distribute our movie?

MIRAMAXMiramax are a very successful film company who have produced many big name movies, such as ‘Pulp Fiction’, ‘Doubt’ and many others. They are not as commercially known as Warner but they have global appreciation so I feel that they would do our movie justice.

VERTIGO

0 Vertigo is another distribution company we have looked at.

0 Its on a much smaller scale to Miramax. Miramax is a global distribution company, where as Vertigo is a British Independent distribution company that releases much lower budget such as Monsters, Football factory and Spring-Breakers.

0With advertising it is very important to keep the campaign unique but without spending excessive amounts of money.

0With our Movie I feel we could create a mobile app to advertise our movie as it is based on a mobile phone product. We could make an app which has a map of all phones with the app installed and then label each mobile with it installed on the map as ‘Cautioned devices’. This would intrigue the user to come watch our movie. This would lead to increased sales in the box office.
