Arctic Monkey’s Website Analysis

This is the first thing you see when you go to the Arctic Monkey’s website.

The first thing that is clear to us is that the website is all black and white, this will be used to compliment the bad boy look in which the Arctic Monkey’s go.

The bands latest upload on there YouTube channel is featured as a main feature of the site.

The bands logo is clear and visible.

There is a 10 page link header at the top of the website – offering a lot of fans.

A 1/3 of the website is taken up by self promo and advertising.

When you scroll down the website the Arctic Monkey’s logo and the link header scrolls down with you.

There is also a huge section for a playlist of videos.

A small and subtle twitter follow button is placed at the bottom of the site.

A news section must be extremely important to the band as it takes up the entire second half of the home screen. The band must like to keep there fans informed.

Like I said on the front page it clear that keeping their fans informed is something which is important to the band.

There is a clear archive of the old news again stressing the importance of the need to inform there fans.

Here is a section for the fans to comment there opinion.

News PageThe news page has shown us that the need to involve the fans as much possible is something which is a priority for the arctic monkeys, which could also show us that they have a huge fan base. When you have a huge fan base they will be so called mega fans which will love the idea of the band posting the news which they are in and the fact they will able to post there opinion to what the band is posting.

Gigs Page

On the Gigs page as expected there is a list of there up coming tour dates, city and venues.

There is the option to buy tickets and they also inform you whether they are sold out or not.

Photo PageAgain the band’s logo and the header including links have followed us onto the photo page.

Here they have different albums of photo’s, ranging from recent to there earliest days.They also organise there images by year, to give

there fans the best experience possible.

Video Page

The all videos section includes all the videos from the bands official YouTube page.

Again here is the comments section which features on some other pages. It shows us that the arctic monkeys have a large demanding fan base who like to voice there opinion.

The latest upload is the biggest.

Releases Page

The artic monkeys have a list of everything they have ever released, which is ideal for newer fans.

Sticking within the stereotypes of the indie genre, they have organised there singles with actual record covers.

Forum Page

The forum link on the page leads you to a separate window where fans can comments and start conversation with fellow fans. Some of the conversations have over 100,000 comments showing how popular the band is.
