Mobile Charging Kiosk

Cellphones are omnipresent, even in regions without access to electricity. People in these regions often have to undertake great efforts to recharge their cell phones. Creating a mobile solar powered cell phone charger that can go where customers are, is, therefore, a smart idea. The mobile cell phone charger consists of standard PV components which are mounted on a (motor-) bicycle trailer. This means that instead of having a stationary unit, it can go wherever the customers gather such as market places, bus stops, local events for example, thus creating new market potential. The African Renewable Energy Distributor Company wants to place 20 prototypes on the Rwandan market to collect critical data that will be used to determine the customers’ willingness to pay, ascertain the best locations, enhance the end-user experience and build a franchise model. The final cost of an improved and marketable MSCC-unit will be about 2,000 USD.
