Networking in Supported Employment

• 2 year project (December 2012 – November 2014)

• Networking as a natural activity, in which people get to know each other to find job opportunities.

• The goal is to be recommended to someone, or to learn about someone who is looking for and needs the service that you provide.

Networking in Supported Employment

• International partnership:– Rytmus, Czech Republic (leading partner)– SOLWAY, VIAS Scotland, Scotland, UK– Wienwork, Austria

• What we documented with the project:– Circles of relationships, planning meetings, getting

into the community, job shadow days, internal networking, informal networking, informal business networking, CSR breakfast, networking clubs, cooperation with state organization and agencies

Wien Work

• Non-Profit Social Firm offering consulting, education, vocational training and employment for disabled people

• plus one project for long-term unemployedpersons without disabilities

• About 630 Employees, short- and longterm • Socially oriented, diversity oriented,

service provider and producer/manufacturer in 11 business fields

• Since 33 years located in Vienna

Wien Work• Intern: • Jobmanagement • Marketing • Managers and Sales of Wien Work Business Segments• Extern: • Cooperations with Companies• Business Circles • Umbrella Organisations• Founders and Politics• Other Special Services in Supported Employment• Personal Contacts• Federal Economic Chamber and others• Goal of the Project: learn new approach like Business for Breakfast

Business for breakfast

• Marketing tool• Business meetings from

various disciplines (in exclusivity field)

• Breakfast is once every two weeks

• The goal is to get contacts

• The opportunity to present SE

• Breakfast is paid (10 euro) + annual membership

Business for breakfast

• Fixed program

– 1,5 hour - always in the morning

• Short introduction in 60 sec (members and guests)

• Focus on business (10 min)

• Networking break

• Educational point (5 min)• Sharing contacts, arranging meetings and/or

cooperation

Breakfast for social responsibility

• Rytmus had been looking for a cheaper way to meet employers than BforB.

• Trying out, adjusting the scenario and the PR for the meeting

• Number of invited companies minimum 100 per meeting -> Number of participants +- 10

• Goal: to meet and become partners with new potential employers and get new jobs, promoting CSR idea, present SE services

Breakfast for social responsibility

• Breakfasts are 3 times per year - we try to invite employers every 4 months

• We cooperated with Council of Prague 2, now (?)

• What we do: – We invite employers.– Present SE.– Offer cooperation.– Try to inspire employers.

• Presentation of the employer- experiences with employing people with disabilites

• Discussion• Sharing contacts,

arranging meetings and/or cooperation

• Feedback
