Who are Haven Insurance Brokers ?

• We were the first Chartered Insurance Brokers in Wales with the

highest duty of care that comes with that status • We are a locally based, family run business with the expertise of

qualified and experienced staff available in order to deal with any size of enquiry

• We pride ourselves on professional advice, not just selling a product

• Whilst being local, we are able to consider any enquiry from all over the UK and further afield

• Our duties include: – to find the most competitive price for the widest cover with highest

rated insurers, normally A or higher – To make the cover as air tight as possible

• We pride ourselves on professional advice, not just selling a product and we are not tied to any insurance company, we are totally independent

• We visit all clients and their premises to understand the risk we are brokering. Not a call centre approach. You cannot fully understand a commercial risk without having seen the risk

• We will look at renewals to check whether they remain competitive

• We assist with claims and mid term adjustments

There are lots of schemes which can be very attractive (cheap), however it can mean they have lots of restrictions / excesses which can make it difficult

to claim. We look at all schemes before deciding to use them.

Also, if it is that ‘cheap’ be wary as schemes can be with non regulated insurers and it has been known for them to go bust with no protection.

The list is not exhaustive, any business may have one or more element of any of the above.

Why claims can be declined

• Non disclosure of material facts • Non compliance of warranties / conditions • Electrical certificates not up to date • Average condition (under insurance) • Incorrect / non complete business activities • Misrepresentation of the facts (say the risk is one thing, knowing its

actually not) Not an exhaustive list but some of the main ones.

Insurance is a product you never want to claim on, but when you do, you want it set up correctly.

USE A CHARTERED BROKER. There a few good insurers, most are mediocre and a few bad ones but all insurers will go through everything forensically before paying out larger

claims, don’t be caught out.

And finally

• The guy was all over the road. I had to swerve a number of times before I hit him.

• I saw a slow moving, sad faced old

gentleman as he bounced off the roof of my car.

• I was on the way to the doctor

with rear end trouble when my universal joint gave way causing me to have an accident.
