Eye Observe: Education Evaluation System

Overview:Eye Observe is a multi-user education evaluation management system that

offers a side-by-side evaluation form and real-time video to simultaneously capture and document observed teaching practices. Eye Observe is a mobile, cloud-based application capable of managing schools individually, or collectively as a district. All information stored by Eye Observe, including all personnel data and forms, are protected through rigorous privacy settings and secure login requirements. Whether used individually by a teacher as a means of self-improvement, or by instructional coaches and administrators as a means of formative and summative evaluation, Eye Observe offers a secure, streamlined approach to managing evaluations and tracking teacher improvement trends.

Instead of completing, tracking and filing paper forms, Eye Observe offers seamless electronic evaluation management, From completing the actual in-classroom observation to housing district-wide forms for easy review and access, Eye Observe saves time and paper by consolidating resources through an instant information transfer to the cloud-based system

Eye Observe: Education Evaluation System

Purpose:This user guide is intended to demonstrate how to navigate and use the

Eye Observe application, including the simultaneous evaluation and video capture capabilities, as well as the reporting functions. Please note that depending on the level of authorization granted to an individual user, the screens and access may vary slightly from what is seen in this guide.

Users:DIstrict Administrators: Access to all forms and reports district-wideSite Administrators: Access to all forms and reports at the site levelInstructional Coaches: Access to all forms for assigned teachersTeachers: Access to individual forms only

Requirements:iPad 2 or newer, Wi-Fi connectivity, Eye Observe App Download

Eye Observe Navigation

Login with your username and password. First time users will need to Register to create these items..

Welcome screen

From this screen you can either Logout, or chose from one of the three main option buttons:

NewAggregate ReportsSaved Forms

These three options are always visible at the bottom-left side of the window.

Starting a New Evaluation Form

Tapping on the “New” button will open the Evaluation form menu.

Selecting any of the four options will open the editable evaluation form to the right side of the screen, while the video record option will become active on the left side.

The editable evaluation form will appear on the right hand side of the screen.

Recording a Video and Editing a Form

To record a short video, press Record.

The video screen will appear on the top left hand side of the screen.

When complete, press the stop button.

The bottom left hand side of the screen will show the options to playback recorded video clips

Press Playback to view the video clip and open the comments capability.

Comment on a Video Recording

Press Comment to make time-marked comments about desired events..

The “add comment” window will open with the keypad to allow for typing comments

Minimize the keypad to end comments

The video clips and comments will be visible upon returning to the main screen.

Save as many video clips and comments as you would like.

Evaluation Criteria Information Button

You can also use the evaluaiton form on the right hand side to take notes and observation data.

Several of the premade options have full section and item rubrics available.

To see the rubric, press the Information “i” button on the main section headings

Save or Submit a Form

When complete, you can choose to Save the form temporarily on your device, or to Submit the form for final sumbission..

Access a Saved Form

To retrieve or view “Saved Forms” simply select the “Saved Forms” button from the bottom left menu bar. Then chose from the populated list.

Aggregate Reporting

For authorized users, selecting the Agrregate Reporting button from any screen will populate a list of all of the sumbitted forms, organized by evaluation type and date for viewing.

Logout

Remember to Logout when you are done.

For security purposes, you will be automatically logged out if you leave the application or have an extended period of inactivity.
