1. Practice and experience on carbon
emission
The largest absolute energy savings have been made by China, 58% of global energy saving -----World bank report

1. Practice and experience on carbon emission
Less energy used gets the high GDP speed

2.1Energy saving and energy efficiency
Key areas of energy conservation:
– Industrial:boilers, energy-efficiency
motor promotion projects,
– Energy-efficiency building.
– Transportation:airport, port, green
city transportation, electric cars,
electric bicycles

Phase out Incandescent Light
The UN secretary-general, Ban ki-moon , participated in the
signature ceremony of Phasing–out of Incandescent Lamps &
Energy Saving Lamps Promotion Project on Jul.24 ,2009.
2.1 Energy saving and energy efficiency

2.2 Low Carbon and Carbon trading
Carbon trading pilots: 7 provinces and cities
Low Carbon pilot cities: 42
Low Carbon Industrial Parks: 55
Low Carbon residential communities: 1000
CCUS pilots

2.3 Renewable energy
Renewable technology
----PV & Wind power
Technologies are improved quickly.
Market is getting better as PV cost is low
then before and incentive policies.
9
2.3 Renewable energy
Electric car
----Technology of battery and charging is improving.
-----Incentive policy
Subsidy for car price and electricity price
In Beijing, no limitation for one-day-stop a week and
easy to get a car’s license plate number
Total cost of electric car is lower than fuel car about 1/3
to 1/2 , direct cost (electricity & gas ) is lower than ¼
----Problems: charging place and time, price, battery
technology (cast and capacity) and quality

Objectives of Mitigating Climate Change in 2030:
China and United States jointly issued the China-Us
statement on climate change, in November 2014
China intends to achieve the peaking of CO2 emissions
around 2030 and to make best efforts to peak early
Increase the share of non-fossil fuels in primary energy
consumption to around 20% by 2030
3.Green development
11
Conclusion Large reduction of carbon emission can be achieved
Energy consumption intensity had been decreased
by 30%, the carbon emission intensity had been
decreased by 34% from 2005 to 2014
Promote the green development for the climate
change
Green development = Sustainable development
