« BODYWARE, THE BODY AS A NEW FRONTIER OF DIGITAL TECHNOLOGY » is an expedition organised by the Fondation Internet Nouvelle Génération. The FING’s expeditions aim to explore new fields of innovation ; their work nourish industrial strategies and policy makers.

The human body has become a tool, a medium, a subject and a target for digital technology. In parallel, the great development of new biotechnologies accelerates and facilitates the understanding, modification and exploitation of living organisms at all scales. Biology today has become a true engineering discipline, changing our relationship to nature and to our bodies.

Moreover, the active involvement of individuals into this trend (as citizens or professionals) will likely provoke tensions between potential applications related to security, control and efficiency on the one hand, and those related to exploration, individualization and personal autonomy.

The innovative alliance between design, biological sciences and digital technology offers an exciting and unlimited range of applications. We invite you to imagine the future of our bodies.

THEMESThe workshop will be focused on the themes of the Bodyware expedition :
