MAS Elections

ARICLE XII – ELECTIONS

Section 1 – Elections of members of the Board of Directors shall be

conducted annually each June.

Section 2 – All nominations shall be from the floor.

Section 3 – Voting shall be by secret ballot and a simple majority shall be

necessary to elect an officer. In the event that no majority is reached the two

candidates receiving the most votes shall be considered in a second ballot.

Balloting shall continue until a majority is reached.

Section 4 – Exceptions to the section 3 may be taken only in the case of a

unanimous reelection of existing officers. In such a case the Secretary shall

cast one honorary ballot for the candidates.

Section 5 – Newly elected officers shall assume their duties at the

conclusion of the meeting at which they are elected.

Section 6 - Proxy votes shall be acceptable in the elections of officers.

Section 7 – Only associate members shall have voting privileges and each

shall cast only one vote.
