Annie’s Landing at Ellenbrook is the eighth village for the Swan Valley town and will eventually be home to over 1,000 dwellings centred around a vibrant village heart which will include a primary school, local shop and recreation facilities. “This latest release at Annie’s landing is beautifully located, with retained bushland and public open space adjacent to the homesites or just a short walk away,” Group Sales Manager – Residential, Mr Tony McEntee said. “There is a district playground planned for nearby, and a proposed school and village centre within walking distance.” Annie’s Landing takes it name from Anne (Annie) Frances Elizabeth Hamersley, the wife of William Brockman, a pastoralist and stockbreeder, who together with Ensign Dale discovered the Avon Valley in July 1830. “Annie’s Landing has been inspired by the Avon Valley’s rural landscape and historic townsites, which have been married with the core Ellenbrook design principles of a modern community to create the new village’s layout and architectural theme,” Mr McEntee said. Pitched roofs, face brick and local Toodyay stonework will echo the strong sense of character found in the historic townsites of the Avon Valley, while working landscape plantings such as orchards will echo the pastoral heritage of the region.

Annie’s Landing even has its own small equivalent of the Avon River, with Sawpit Gully, a tributary of Ellen Brook, meandering through the village and linking the three key hamlets within Annie’s Landing to one another and the village centre. “Sawpit Gully is an important feature of Annie’s Landing,” Mr McEntee said. “To reflect this, a prominent water statement will feature at the entrance to Annie’s Landing, whilst a central road bridge crossing over Sawpit Gully will create a sense of arrival west of the village.” These entry statements will connect Annie’s Landing to other Ellenbrook villages, together with an extensive network of footpaths and cycle-ways. Annie’s Landing is located just 6kms from the Ellenbrook Town Centre and according to Mr McEntee truly offers the best of both worlds. “Annie’s Landing really is its own little enclave of tranquility, with all the benefits of a bustling regional town centre just 10 minutes away,” Mr McEntee said.
