If you believe…
- The bicycle market is very large
- Inflating your tires is a notable hassle for cyclist
- and self-inflating technology is possible
…Then you will find PumpTire a compelling business investment
Worldwide Inner Tube Production
690 - 920 million inner tubes produced annually!
Description Quantity (units)
New bicycles (115 million units)
Inner tubes sold with new bicycles
230 million
Aftermarket Replacement market is 2-3 times the new bicycle market
460-690 million
TOTAL PRODUCTION / YR 690-920 million
CHF 2.0 – 2.7 Billion EU/US Retail Market
The EU/US inner tube market is equal to 29% (units) of worldwide production
Description Quantity (units) Retail market value (assuming CHF 10.00)
New bicycles market
Inner tubes sold with new bicycles
67 million CHF 670 million
Aftermarket Replacement market is 2-3 times the new bicycle market
133-200 million CHF 1.3 – 2.0 billion
TOTAL PRODUCTION / YR 200-267 million € 2.0 – 2.7 billionPumpTire’s will charge 3x’s more than current retail price!
How the PumpTire Works
1. Flexible pumping mechanism sits between inner tube and tire
1. Mechanism pushes air into tire when flexed by pavement
1. Mechanism returns to original shape drawing in air from the atmosphere
Low-pressure zone in inner tube enables pumping
WHO SHOULD BE AN ADVISOR TO PUMPTIRE?
GOALS NEXT 12 MONTHS
• Completing an agreement with EU tire manufacturer
• Completing an agreement with first customer
• Engineering and building pre-production prototype
• Raising CHF 1-2M
• Adding 3 people to our board of advisors
Unleashing the power of PPPs
The founding
fathers of the
ICRC were
you, me and
all the
different
actors of civil
society
Did you
know?
And tonight
we meet
again
But how and where do we
come together?
But we all have a common
denominator
people
Our realities are different
Humanitarians Corporates
Vs
Our approach of the Private sector is
evolving
From a source
of funds
To partners in
Innovation
We need
to
determine
our
common
goals &
challenges
Which partnership model do we use?
3 models
available

The Slam-dunk
Connect Familiarize Partner
The Netsourcer

How can we unleash the power of
PPPs?
With PPPs we
have
everything to
gain
RED Innovation
1. Who are we
Softweb is a network for social innovation:
Social incubation for project holders and NPOs
Participatory lab
Social innovation consulting
2. Successes
80-100 project holders receive free advise each year
Social entrepreneurship day organized in partnership with
University of Geneva and other key partners each
November – with 150-200 participants
Projects we have supported have received different
awards (Ashoka, IDDEA, etc.)
Thematic partnerships with international organizations
(Canada, France, Morocco, Belgium, etc.)
3. Some problems we identified
Social entrepreneurship is intertwinkled with who you are and
what you went through as an individual ; atypical
entrepreneurs (from different cultures/backgrounds/etc.) are
prone to creating « different » businesses
Throughout their missions, many humanitarians have
developed unique skills that they do not always know how to
position when they come back from the field and want to come
back to civil life
Women entrepreneurs and people with an international
background may find it harder to setup and grow their
business due to specific needs and possible lack of
information
4. What we are building with our partners
Helpdesk for humanitarians returning from the field, with the
wish to stay in the humanitarian field or to change carriers,
allowing them to know where to start to build their next career
step
Mentoring for people who want to transition
Affordable training and coaching services for project holders
Large collaboration with different partners in Switzerland and
near-by France to ensure the best level of support
…and
many
more…
+ 5. Why we need your help / Open
question(s)
How to ensure a good subsidiarity with the public
sector?
How to sensitize the private sector about the
humanitarian people’s skills?
Thank you!!

From learning from accidents to learning from safe
operations
Future safety gains:
from analyzing data from the more than 38 million flights
that operate safely every year,
rather than just the handful of flights where something
goes wrong

What We Do On Innovation ?
Explore the relevant technologies to innovate in
the aviation industry
Sponsor research proposals and bring relevant
data sets for experimentation
Create standards required to allow the industry
to develop global self-service solutions
Engage with regulators on the acceptance of
new technologies
The Purpose:
To create a home where connections, knowledge
and resources drive changemakers towards a new
breed of solutions in service of society and planet.
