An  exciting  way  to  create  highlight  is  to  vary  the  thickness  of  the  font  used  on  our  presentation  slides.  A  very  common  method  is  to  apply  the  BOLD  style  to  the  selected  word  (or  words).  But  to  make  this  more  interesting,  we  might  want  to  choose  a  font  type  that  has  different  width  deAinition.

Examples  of  these  font  families  are  Myriad  Pro  and  Avenir  Next.  These  font  families  have  different  thickness  that  you  can  select.  Chances  are  that  you  might  already  have  these  fonts  installed  on  your  computer.

If  you  have  been  following  my  e-‐newsletters,  you  might  have  noticed  that  I  have  used  this  technique  quite  often  in  my  presentation  slide  examples.  Let  me  show  you  a  couple  more  examples  using  this  technique.

The  examples  above  made  use  of  a  solid  background.  In  your  actual  presentation  slides,  you  might  have  an  image  as  your  background.  Be  sure  to  check  that  there  is  enough  contrast  between  your  text  and  background  image  and  that  your  slide  content  is  clear  and  legible  when  projected.
