A son of an Indian mahout was discovered by documentary film-maker Robert Flaherty who casted him in British film ‘Elephant Boy’. He was best known for his role as ‘Abu’ in ‘The Thief of Bagdad’. He had acted in various Hollywood movies which increased his popularity. Later on, he joined the United States Army Air Forces and was awarded for his distinguished valor.

This ravishing lady stunned the world with her performance as Scarlett O’Hara in ‘Gone with the Wind’ (1939). She even won ‘Best Actress’ for two films in Academy Awards. Douglas Robert Jardine, a right handed batsman is best known for his captaincy during 1932-33 Ashes tour of Australia. He grew up and studied in Mumbai till the age of 9 after he was sent to a school in England. His defensive method of batting had gained him negative criticism. Despite this Jardine was selected in Test matches for the first time in 1928 and rest was history.
