However, I have researched both of these brands of Rock magazine, and established that the ‘Q’ layout was far clean cut with it’s grid structure and focused on specific artists; creating reliability and trust. This is the magazine I feel most comfortable with producing, and as the ‘Q’ research was also high, this is the style I will try and recreate.

50% of my target audience preferred Kerrang.

Q3 - Which of these rock bands do you consider the best to cover for a rock magazine?

Artic MonkeysThe StrokesThe KillersOasisKasabianKaiser ChiefsOther

The Killers and Oasis have both been voted as the best Rock bands for the cover of that genre of magazine. This allows me a wider spectrum of choosing what I believe suits the cover best, and an easy choice for the style of subsidiary images, as I can use poses and/or similar clothing of either bands to create a believable rock band main image for my cover page and any other further images. For example; an Oasis styled cover page main image and a The Killers styled subsidiary image to create diversity in the bands I create, giving the magazine a professional appeal (covers many bands; has a variety of contents).

Q5 - Do you think is important to have websites or other media platforms that connect to your magazine?

YesNoI don't know

The unanimous results of media platforms, proves how important they are in appealing to an audience in this modern society; especially as my target audience are within the prime age of mass consumers of technology (technophiles), it emphasizes how necessary it is to include the impression that my magazine, if real, would offer this. This would therefore further attract the audience I am trying to specifically appeal to and generate more income with the more buyers and higher trust in that the magazine understands the target audience’s needs.

Q7 and Q8 - How many pages and price would you consider are appropriate for a weekly issue?

With this in mind, I will discard my results for price and page amount, in response to a monthly magazine. Instead, I will present the relevant data corresponding to a weekly magazine.

Price

From this, I can assume a price of around £1.60 to £2.50 for my magazine, and a page count of 41-50 pages, as both result graphs presented a 60% majority.

Using the information I have gathered, it is apparent that my target audience is most intrigued with an interview with a band or artist. This is why this is what I will use for my article; as it will be aimed for my target audience, so it is of an importance that I am providing them with the article they will find most interesting and enjoyable; this will generate trust with the magazine and its audience, which will then generate higher profit.

Q10 - What colour scheme would you consider appropriate?

Black/red/yellow/whitePink/yellow/green/blueWhite/blue/yellow/orangePurple/red/white/blue

Finally, the colour scheme of black/red/yellow/white proved almost unanimous, with 90% of votes. Taking my target audience’s opinion into perspective, I will use this colour scheme for my magazine. Also, it is the easiest colour scheme to use; contrasting well with each other, but not too much as to persuade the audience to not be attracted the magazine. Instead, I feel it presents the magazine as professional; important in the audience’s value of the magazine and the trust they create with it.
