WHO CAN VOTE?People 18 or older on polling day, who are a Canadian citizen, a resident of the electoral district, and who have registered ahead of time to get their name on the voters list (must show identification to vote).

Ontario is divided into 107 electoral districts. There are 8 districts in and around Ottawa.
Districts are determined by population and each is represented by a Member of Provincial Parliament (MPP) who makes the laws to govern the province.
The party with the most votes will become the next government of Ontario and that party’s leader will become the premier of Ontario.
Important issues for this election include education, jobs (including unemployment and underemployment), waste management, health care and highways.

Tentatively scheduled for October 19, 2015 Districts (or ridings) elect Members of Parliament (MPs) to represent them in the House of Commons. By-elections are held to fill vacated seats. The Toronto districts of Trinity-Spadina and Scarborough-Agincourt will be voting in by-elections on June 30, 2014.
June 12, 2014Held every four years on the first Thursday in October unless one is called by the Premier and Lieutenant Governor (as this one was).
October 27, 2014Held every four years on the 4th Monday in October. Ottawa will elect 12 Zone School Board Trustees, 23 Ward (neighborhood) Councillors and 1 City Mayor.
