The Masthead of the magazine ‘Q’ is situated at the top of the page in a large bold font. The colours of the masthead are contrasting with the background making the magazine stand out on the shelf

The main image of the front cover is of Michael Jackson, a man who may appeal to the demographic of the target audience. the target audience for Q is music buyers of over 25 years old, of both genders.

The phrase, ‘THE UK’S BIGGEST MUSIC MAGAZINE’ would persuade the consumer to purchase Q over other magazines as ‘Q’ says that it is the biggest.

The main cover line of the magazine is ‘MICHAEL JACKSON UNMASKED’ followed by ‘inside his mad, bad world’ this would capture the consumers attention drawing them to the magazine

The colour scheme of the magazine is white red and black, these colours are balanced so everything stands out and nothing is faded into the background. T he background is grey, along with the word ‘UNMASKED’

The word ‘plus’ makes it sound like the consumer would be getting more information then what is crammed on to the busy layout of the front cover

The layout of the magazine is quite busy, it has a lot going on and plenty of information on the cover

An advertisement is used at the bottom of the magazine to preview what is inside

The title of the magazine is written at the top of the double page contents page, along with the issue number of the magazine so the consumer can see what issue of the magazine they have purchased

The is a menu used to try show the ‘features’ of the magazine briefly as a preview of the magazine and the articles within.

There is a picture of the magazines cover page on the cover page of the magazine. This is so the consumer can see what interested them into buying the magazine

The word regulars is used to tell the regular buyers of the magazine that all of there favourite features are in the magazine

A picture of Wayne Rooney is used as he is someone that would appeal to the target audience of the magazine, (men over 20) football is considered a manly sport so Rooney would appeal to the buyers

The main image of the front cover is of, a character from gorrilaz who may appeal to the demographic of the target audience. the target audience for Q is music buyers of over 20years old that are male

The layout of the magazine is quite busy, it has a lot going on and plenty of information on the cover

The main image is of Jay-Z an artist that would appeal to the target audience of the magazine, his face takes up one A4 side of the double page spread, possibly highlighting his big bad boy demine, The image is a close up this again makes him look bigger and more intimidating

Rap radar is a section of the magazine specifically for rap music, this is situated in a big font on the page so it is easy for the consumer to locate the rap radar section.

The date is located at the bottom of the page on the left along with the page number. This is so the consumer can locate the article using the contents page and the page number

A quote from the article is positioned over the main image to preview the information that’s in the article, this draws the readers interest and makes the reader want to read on.

A big red capital J is positioned over the text. This could show his bad boy personality leaving a mark on the article.

The phrase ‘THE MOST EXCITING PEOPLE IN MUSIC’ makes the reader feel like they must read about the article and if they don’t they would be missing out.

The article is written in columns making it easier for the reader to find points of interest and makes the article look less daunting

The main image of the front cover is of a modern copy of the nirvana album cover for ‘never mind’ this would appeal to the target audience of the magazine.

The main cover line of the magazine is ‘WHAT NEVERMIND MEANS NOW’ this would capture the consumers attention drawing them to the magazine

A menu is used on the side of the cover to preview some of the things inside of the magazine, ‘& MORE’ is used to tell the consumer that there is too much information in the magazine to feature the front cover

The layout of the magazine is quite simplistic and minimalist it has a lot going on and plenty of information on the cover

A plug is used to try and convince the consumer to buy the magazine

The phrase ‘SPECIAL ISSUE’ is used to make the consumer feel like they are buying a special one time edition of the magazine and that they wouldn’t get the information anywhere else

The layout of the magazine is simplistic and minimalist, it has a white and black colour scheme that is clashed, with in the image with the pink ukelele

The main image is of Kid Cudi an artist that would appeal to the target audience of the magazine, the image takes up one A4 side of the double page spread, possibly highlighting his big bad boy demine, The image is a medium close up this again makes him look bigger and more intimidating

Kid Cudi’s name is in two separate fonts that take up both sides of the double paged spread. The different fonts may reflect on the different sides to the artist that are reflected upon during the article

The date is located at the bottom of the page on the left of the spread. This is so the consumer can see what date the issue they have is from and see if they have the latest edition

A subscription advertisements is put on the contents page to make the reader see all of the information featured and if they like it they will see they advertisement and get a subscription

The name of Liam's new band is positioned as a mast head on the other page, its in a bright font that stands out from the black and white colour scheme used in the image and the rest of the magazine

The article is written in columns to make it look less intimidating, and easier for the consumer to read

‘2013’s biggest albums’ this phrase is used to draw the readers attention and make them want to read about the years ‘Biggest albums

A blue dotted border is positioned around the article to make it stand out, and more appealing to the consumer
