The Guernica

The Guernica symbolizes the Nazi air force bombardment and devastation of the city called Guernica, this fact happened before the Second World War.

The Nazi Army used the Spanish civil war to test their weapons .

Obviously the Nazis fought against republican jointly with Franco.

The Guernica

Guernica is gray, black and white, 3.5 metre (11 ft) tall and 7.8 metre (25.6 ft) wide, a mural-size canvas painted in oil.

This painting can be seen in the Museo Reina Sofía in Madrid.

A copy of Picasso's Guernica is displayed on the wall of the United Nations building in New York City.

Once, Nazi officers came into Picasso´s apartment in Paris and

saw a photograph of Guernica. The officer remarked with

ridicule, “This painting, you did this.”

“No,” replied Picasso. “You did this.”

On April 27th, 1937 at 4:30 PM German Condor bombers devastated the

town and killed 1600 men women and children.
