The company has continued to grow with the recent addition of TRU in February 2013. The company − with teams in the UK, US, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, India and Singapore − is a unit of global research leader The Kantar Group, which in turn is part of advertising and communications conglomerate WPP.

Executive Summary

The Futures Company, a WPP company, selected Readyportal to build a progressive Client Portal. Their family of sites serves Fortune 500 Clients across the globe and functions as the company’s gateway to its extensive bookshelf of research-based product deliverables.

A key goal was the ability to stage and maintain content in a single location, and to selectively deliver portions of that on a subscription basis to hundreds of corporate Clients. The portal currently houses over 300 customized micro-sites within a secured environment, providing each Client and their users access to individually subscribed content and intelligence.

READYPORTAL CASE STUDY Create Collaborate Communicate

The Challenge

As a result of the HCHLV and Yankelovich merger, The Futures Company felt they needed to differentiate themselves from the competition. They wanted to introduce collaboration to their Clients, while increasing internal efficiencies − so in March of 2010 TFC made the decision to move to an electronic based subscription model for delivery of their library of knowledge and research reports using the web.

Clients received reports by email prior to Readyportal’s implementation. Reports were often misplaced, resulting in Client requests for the same material − thus driving up support costs. Also there was no order tracking control in place, leading to lost revenues. TFC’s challenge was finding a cost effective web-based solution that met all of their goals and objectives:

• An efficient distribution platform that was secure and user-friendly, with the ability to improve their Client’s online experience. • Ability to deliver targeted content to specific Clients. • Improved Client support through increased collaboration and Client personalization. • Ability to provide a unique customer experience that delivered TFC’s library of knowledge in a highly searchable and accessible format. • Ability to service multinational/global Clients. • A reliable solution that supported Clients 24/7.

The Solution

From an investment standpoint, Readyportal was considered the best cost-conscious decision. As a company they were selected for their approach of working with Customers to understand their unique requirements − and recommending the best solutions to an evolving set of objectives.

“We are thrilled to be working with Readyportal to better serve our multinational Clients by improving their online experience”, said Stewart Pearce, Global IT Director of The Futures Company.

It took six months to build a version of the Readyportal Enterprise software that would allow TFC to meet all of their requirements. Pearce cited the ability to customize content delivery and ease of use as key advantages of the Readyportal Enterprise platform. “It was imperative for us to design a unique customer experience that delivers our library of knowledge in a highly searchable and accessible format,” explained Pearce.

TFC migrated legacy flat page content from Zope, an open source CMS that The Henley Centre HeadlightVision had been using prior to the merger. The Future Company’s new web presence has greatly improved the level of Client experience and support through better delivery of data and increased collaboration.

Stewart Pearce, went on to explain that one of the key selling features of the Readyportal Enterprise product was the platform’s extensive customization capabilities, and its ease of use − one of the main reasons that TFC chose Readyportal over other options like Sharepoint.

The Futures Company felt that Readyportal provided them with a number of key business benefits:

• Flexible web platform robust enough to meet dynamic Client demands. • Advanced search capabilities. • Ability to manage content centrally. • Ability to customize content delivery and platform ease of use. • Secure environment.

The Results

• Ability to deliver extensive library of knowledge in highly searchable and accessible format.• Ability to provide superior online experience to Customers.• Improved delivery of Client data and increased collaboration.• Flexible and robust web platform for meeting dynamic Client demands.• Readyportal’s ability to meet requirements on every level.
