Synopsis: Walking into the bathroom, Ally faces the mirror looking deeply into, seeing her reflection, while reflecting on everything that has happened in the past couple of week since her sister’s death, using an inner voice monologue she describes her state of mind. Ally talks about how life can change by one action; leading on to say how she has felt nothing since her sister’s death and how she believes that she did it. Although she has been accused of her sister’s death, Ally is still unsure of what really happened that day, but as everyone accuses her of her murder, she starts to believe that as the truth. Reaching up to get a tube of pills out of the medicine cabinet. She slowly opens the lid and pours full tube into her hand. With a glass of water in her other hand, she prepares to take her own life. As she places the first pill onto her tongue, she begins to feel the blood rush of fear pulsing through her body and spits out the pill, knocking her back to her senses. In small chunks, she begins to remember what really happened that day and begins to realise that she may not have been responsible for her sister’s death after all. * In this short film, we wanted to look into the psychological mind of someone who had been through a traumatic experience.

*With this in mind, we thought the most traumatic experience would be something along the lines of loss and death.

* To make it more interesting, we also thought the death of the person would be a murder and could have been done by their own family member and the family member may not remember due to selective amnesia.

Characters: Alison/ Ally - Main Character (Accused of her sisters murder)Lauren – Deceased SisterJames – Brother (Person responsible for finding Ally standing over Laurens body) Marie –Mother (May appear in scenes) Costume:Allison/ Ally – For present, dark baggy clothes, For flashbacks casual clothes.Lauren – Bright coloured casual clothes.James – Casual clothing.

Target Audience:*Our aim is to reach out to audiences above the

age of 15/16 as it will contain some quite upsetting and depressing scene that may either confuse the younger audiences or will be uninteresting to the younger audience in general.* The audience will be gripped to their seats as

they following our main character through the film, finding out what really happen to her sister. *It will be hard to align with the main character as

she may be responsible for someone else's death. But hopefully the more the short film shows the main character, the more the audience will grow to like her and see it wasn’t her fault or wasn’t a cold hearted killer.

Scene 1 – Bathroom

Walking into the bathroom, Ally faces the mirror and just staring into, emotionless and unmoving . :

(Saying it in her head)

“It’s fascinating isn’t it? One wrong move you make can ruin the rest of your life. You don’t ask for it… it just happens. You’re thrown into the mix, not getting a word in edge ways and the next thing you’re thinking of is, what have I done?

I made one mistake that is going to haunt me for the rest of my life… Everyone hates me. My mum can’t even stand to be in the same room as.., no, scratch that the same building as me. My brother… he doesn’t know what to think, but at least he’s got Uni to take his mind off it all. Then theirs my sis…. (Silences) No… no…there isn’t my sister, not anymore. I have been accused of her murder, but even I don’t know what really happened.,,

But it doesn’t matter… I must have done it and everyone hates me, so what’s the point... How can I live in a world where I killed my own sister… No… It has to end… It all has to end…”

Reaching up to get a tube of pills out of the medicine cabinet, she slowly opens the lid and pours full tube into her hand. With a glass of water in her other hand, she prepares to take her own life. As she places the first pill onto her tongue, she begins to feel the blood rush of fear pulsing through her body (She instantly has a small crucial flashback of the night that she had completely forgot about)

(Shouts out loud)

“No!”

Spits out the pill, knocking her back to her senses.

(Talks out loud)

“What am I doing? In what right mind would I kill my own sister?! That’s not me, and I’ll be damned to think I would do such a thing! But I just wish I knew what happened, that night.”

Flashback scenario – (Saying it in her head)

“I was in the bathroom… Lauren was stood over bath, turning the tap off… I was shouting at her… her expression, looks so angry… she’s trying to push me out of the bathroom”

(Flashback ends, back to bathroom - Talks out loud)

“I remember I refused to leave… why was I so angry? I felt the rage brewing up inside of me, but it couldn’t have been enough to kill my own sister, could it?”

End of scene

Features of Form, Style and ContentThere isn’t going to be any dialogue in this short film so there will be more close-ups and other camera angles to show emotions and rely on telling the story. There will be a lot of other camera editing such as tracking, filters (changing the colour to represent Amelia’s mood), over the shoulder shots and panning. The clothes would also tie in with how they feel so because she’s not very happy and is in a bit of dark place she’ll be wearing darker clothes, like black and navy which contrasts with the boy as he’s quite a happy, care-free and easy going guy so he’ll be wearing brighter colours like, blue, white, red, green, orange and yellow.

Set Design and CostumeWe thought it would be easy to film as much of the shots in college since it’s based around a high school which is similar. This means that the costumes will be normal clothes instead of uniforms and to go with the story theme the girl will be in all black most of the time and the guy will be I brightly coloured clothing to match their personalities. However towards the end of the short film we thought it would be effective to dress the girl in one item of colourful clothing to show that the boys attempts I making her happy have started to work.
