• We formulated 14 questions around different features of the Hotel. Questions whose answers could be right only if people have actually been at the Hotel.

• The twist was – The answer had to be in the form of an Instagram photo tagged with #StarInstaAnswers. 14 questions, 14 days, 14 winners and a giveaway of the hotel’s choicest merchandise.

• We created a reason for people to share their pictures with us and for us, to see more of ourselves on Instagram.

• We tracked the hashtags ‘#HotelSaharaStar’ and’#StarInstaAnswers’. Search results threw up some stunning shots of the Hotel as well as pictures of clients enjoying themselves at the Hotel.

• We acknowledged all of these memories by creating a board on Pinterest -http://pinterest.com/hotelsaharastar/instagrammed/ while also getting in touch with these clients via Twitter.

• As participants were posting photos via Instagram, a connect with the brand’s current customers was assured, which was the objective of the campaign.

Buzz on TwitterEntries poured in on all of Sahara Star’s social platforms, with maximum traction on Twitter, as most participants’ Instagram was linked to their Twitter account.

ResultsThe campaign caught a lot of attention and also, received some wonderful reviews from Twitter and Instagram users. Influencers (tweeple with more than 5,000 followers) were spreading the word among their contacts regarding the contest.

ResultsThe campaign ran for 3 weeks and reached a total of 1.8 million impressions by

770,800 users within that period.
