In the first half of 2014, average time spent online per week stands at 25.9 hours, an increase of 0.9 hours over the second half of 2013. Apart from traditional application in shopping and entertainment, new mobile applications such as mobile finance and mobile health are developed to meet users needs and make life even more connected. 5. 3. Exponential Growth Of Online Shopping Due to improved credibility of online service, new measures for consumer protection, enhanced efficiency of logistics, convenience of mobile payment and precision marketing that is being adopted by more enterprises, the number of online shoppers grew exponentially. By June 2014, online shopping penetration rate passed 50% mark, with the growth of mobile shopping 4.3 times that of overall online shopping. 6. 4. E-commerce Driven By Mobile Payment During the first half of 2014, payment became the fastest-growing application in overall online shopping and mobile shopping. The integration of mobile payment and shopping activities paves the way for more application scenarios and more data services, as well as helps online sellers reach consumers offline. 7. 5. More Booking For Travel By June 2014, users booking flight, train ticket, hotel and travel online reached 190 million, a growth of 8.83 million over 2013.
