When you take a shower, it's pretty natural to take your clothes off and that also includes glasses, hair accessories and shoes. But don't forget about taking off your jewelry! Soap and even sparse amounts of water can cause damage to your jewelry.

1. Showering

Whether you are hitting the gym or your next sporting event – remove your jewelry. Not only does it act as a physical interference or a safety violation during a sports game, it can also be subjected to tarnishing from heavy amounts of sweat.

2. Sweating

Like mentioned earlier, the smallest amounts of water can cause damage to your jewelry and when you pair that with swimming in a pool, expect the worst. Chlorine filled swimming pools can wreak havoc on precious metals, gems and stones.

Any kind of spray will take a toll on your jewelry. Harmful chemicals found in hairspray, perfume, cleaning products, deodorants and others can damage jewelry. Before you clean or get yourself ready for the day, put jewelry on last.
