YNPN Mission*
The Young Nonprofit Professionals Network (YNPN) strengthens the social sector by
activating emerging leaders, and connecting them with resources, people, and ideas.

The Structure of YNPN
YNPN National
Independent 501c3
Established in 2004
Primarily focuses on: supporting existing chapters,
helping to start new chapters, serving as the ‘national voice’
of the network via research, reporting, and public speaking
YNPN Chapters
37 fully established chapters across the US/25chapters in
startup phase
1st chapter (YNPN SFBA established in 1997)
Mix of independent 501c3s & locally fiscally-sponsored groups
Run entirely by volunteer boards
Provide consistent professional development & networking
opportunities for local members
YNPN Members
Early to mid-career professionals, typically in their 20s & 30s, who are
interested in building a sustainable career in the
nonprofit sector
50,000 across the countryCurrently members are
defined as “any individual a chapter has access to via
email, twitter, or facebook, paid or unpaid”
YNPN National: Operations

Support, Admin/Startup Chapter Support,
Bookkeeping) 3 LaunchPad Fellows (10
hrs/week)

As of FY 2014: $250K Annual budget
Currently funded through four major grants (American Express, Annie E.
Casey, Packard, Newman’s Own Foundation), smaller grants &
individual donations
