Batumi Investment Agency (BIA) is the first point of contact for all foreign investors. It is the sole government agency responsible for promoting and facilitating foreign direct investments in Batumi and in Ajara as a whole. BIA was launched in early 2011 and it acts as a “one-stop shop” for potential investors.

Batumi – A Bridge between Europe and Asia
Batumi is one of the developing cities in Georgia. It is located in the South-Western part of the country, which is situated in the western and central parts of Trans-Caucasia between the Black and Caspian Seas, on the crossroad to the ancient Silk Road that connected Asia to Europe. Georgia shares its northern border with the Russian Federation, the south-east border with Azerbaijan; in the south it borders Armenia and Turkey, while the Black Sea makes the western limits of the country, with coastal line of the country about 315 km. Seaports at the Black Sea connect Georgia with Ukraine, Romania, Bulgaria and Turkey; Bosporus and Dardanelle straights connect the country with the Mediterranean region, and the river Danube links it with central and Eastern Europe.
Georgia has earned its reputation as a pre-eminent commercial centre with an innovative, dynamic and entrepreneurial business culture. Strategically located at the crossroads of trade and commerce between East and West, it is ideally positioned to service and access markets that span Asia & the Middle East and Europe & the CIS countries. Batum Gürcistan'ın gelişmekte olan şehirlerden birisidir. DTÖ Üyeleriyle EKÜ tarifeleri En Kayırılan Ülkeler Statüsü DTÖ'ne üye olan 139 ülkeye düşük tarifeleri sağlamaktadır.Genel Preferans Sistemi (GSP) – ABD, K a n a d a , İ s v i ç r e v e J a p o n y a (Gürcistan'dan bu ülkelere ihraç edilmiş mallara sıfır (3300) veya düşük tarifeler (6900))GSP artı – AB ve Türkiye (GSP+ statüsü Gürcistan'dan AB'ne ve Türkiye'ye gümrüksüz olarak 7200 türlü malın ihracatını gerçekleştirme olanağı kılar)BDT ülkeleriyle Serbest Ticari Rejimler(Rusya federasyonu hariç)Gürcistan BM ve ABD'nin aracılığı ve teşvikiyle serbest ticaret anlaşmalarını genelleştirmek ve etkin kılmak için çalışmaktadır.
