The Van Leer story
• In 1919 Bernard van leer founded the
packaging company which became a
world leader and provided him with the
means to establish, in 1949, a charitable
foundation with broad humanitarian goals.
• In 1971, the Bernard Van Leer Foundation
was legally established as a charitable
organization
• It is a private foundation that operates
internationally, concentrating its resources
on promoting the optimum development of
disadvantaged children.

• Usually the BOD is based upon 2 directors from the
investors, 2 directors from the founding team and an
industry expert.
