Question 6What have you learnt about technologies from

the process of constructing this product?

During the making of my media product I learnt to use various different programs and websites to do my research and actual making of my magazine.

The first piece of technology I learnt to use in the early stages of making my media product was Survey Monkey which is an online program which allows you to put questions together to generate a set of results. Survey monkey also has technological convergence by creating Graphs after data has been collected. I also used familiar technologies such as Twitter and Facebook to get people to answer the survey.

During the process of making my magazine I also used Adobe Photoshop and learnt how to use different tools on the program such as lasso tool and the spot healing brush tool, this allowed me to cut around my models and alter the background or cut them out all together and also meant I could correct any blemishes either on the background or on the model.

As well as Photoshop I also used Adobe InDesign to create my double page spread, I learnt how to set up a page on InDesign and also how to use the various tools within the program e.g. how to create a text box using the pen tool, allowing the text to wrap around the image.

Finally one of the last things I learnt about technology whilst making my magazine was that I was able to link together Photoshop and InDesign as they are both Adobe products. When I linked them together it allowed me to Place an image on InDesign then alter it through the Photoshop link meaning it updated on the InDesign version straight after it had been saved.
