How to find
MindWorksLeads online
Brain health—from memory to focus to mood—is one of the most promising growth categories in
nutrition, according to the Nutrition Business Journal.
of 1492
Daniel Amen, MD, a psychiatrist and author of ”Use Your Brain to Change Your Age”, says that the
category is beginning to skyrocket, and I can clearly see why.
of 1493
In doing the research for this webinar, and the tools I'll be showing you later in the presentation, which
we have created to help you find MindWorks leads,
I was shocked to discover that by 2050, it's predicted that the number of Americans with Alzheimer’s is
expected to hit 16 million and cost the country
$1.1 trillion.
of 1494
A recent Harvard University survey found that adults fear Alzheimer’s
more than heart disease, stroke or diabetes. Only cancer is feared more.
of 1495
But what is even more alarming
was that one in eight children
are also diagnosed with
brain development disorders,
including autism, ADD, and ADHD.
of 1496
And the most often prescribed drugs in the United States are anti-depressants.
of 1497
I discovered that cognitive health is clearly one of the next big categories
for supplements in the future.
of 1498
In fact Euromonitor international,
figures the global brain health market
was pushing the $2 BILLION mark
even as brain-boosting foods
and beverages have endured a flat period.
of 1499
Of course this is surely the reason that
Shaklee began researching and developing MindWorks
nearly 5 years ago and applied for their MindWorks patents in 2012. of 14910
I'm sure you all remember at the Shaklee live
Conference Maria Shriver challenged us to sell a lot
of MindWorks and impact a million lives.
And for Roger to give a portion of those proceeds
to a brain trust to study research on the brain.
of 14911
So as distributors, we have an opportunity not only to be part of a skyrocketing market and to gain
financially, but to be part of something special. Something big.
We have the ability to help everyday people become empowered to make better choices and develop
simple strategies to keep a fit brain for life. of 14912
We offer a powerful solution
that can help people do better in their jobs,
to live healthier, happier lives,
and have richer social connections
and stronger families.
of 14913
But how do we tell the world about this?
of 14914
As many of you already know, in December
MindWorks will appear on the Dr. Phil Show.
This represents an incredible opportunity to raise awareness
about this revolutionary product. of 14915
So how do we capitalize on the interest
generated from the show?
of 14916
Shaklee has already said they'll be distributing the leads from this
to Directors who meet their qualifications.
But what about those of you who don't qualify?
of 14917
And even if you do qualify for leads, you'll still want to have tools that give you the ability to generate
MindWorks leads beyond what Shaklee gives you.
of 14918
Another important question is:
How do we continue to generate leads
and promote MindWorks
long after the show is over?
of 14919
Before I move on, I'd like to ask those of you on this webinar.
Are you as excited as I am about the potential of this incredible product?
of 14920
How would finding one new MindWorks customer a week help your business?
of 14921
Let's find out exactly how to find those leads, shall we?
of 14922
What you'll learn
Before I get going, let's have a quick overview of what you'll learn from this webinar.
• Exactly what you need to find MindWorks leads
• The exact process for finding them
• How to convert your leads into lifelong loyal clients
• The tools to help you find and convert your leads
• The tools to help you promote MindWorks
• How to put it all into action
of 14924
Susan said:
“I need to be on
Google…”
Some of you may not know this, but I'm a
Shaklee kid who grew up in the business.
of 14926
My parents started in 1981 and they grew to Key Coordinator
using a simple three-step process that we eventually put online
called Your Freedom Project.
of 14927
We couldn't maintain and manage this online system ourselves
so my wife and I ended up creating a company
called Virtual Wonders Web Solutions which now has a team of 25 talented people.
of 14928
Our entire existence is dedicated to creating tools and training programs
that help Shaklee Distributors increase PV and increase sponsoring.
We've actually been creating tools and developing business building strategies
for brand new distributors all the way to Presidential Masters since 2005.
of 14929
During a conversation I had last month with one of our clients, Susan Amine.
She told me that she needed to be on Google to get Dr. Phil leads
and her friend had told her she should use pay per click to do it.
of 14930
I asked her if she had any experience advertising on Google
and she said she hadn't.
of 14931
I explained to her that in order to have success
with pay per click she'd need to do a lot of studying because advertising
on Google has a steep learning curve and she could easily spend a large
amount
of money with little results.
of 14932
But that wasn't the biggest challenge.
She didn't have the right kind of website even if she did decide to use PPC.
I knew she'd get hammered
if she tried to send traffic directly
to her Shaklee PWS.
of 14933
It was then I realized we needed to help.
of 14934
Most don't realize this but driving traffic directly to a product page
on your Shaklee PWS typically has very poor results.
of 14935
Why is this?
of 14936
1. Low conversion rates
conversion rate
1% - 3%less than
There's a very small chance
a first time visitor will buy when they land on
your site.
The conversion rate of shopping sites online
can range from below
1% to 3%.
That means 97 to 99% of people who visit your
site will just bounce off never to return.
of 14937
That's livable if you're Amazon.com and you have millions of visits a month.
of 14938
You don’t.
of 14939
Mobify insights reports 2014 average
conversion rates at 3.33% for health/ beauty
ecommerce sites.
The probability of someone trusting you
enough to buy something
the first time they “meet” you online is very,
very low.
of 14940
2. Don't start out trying to sell to people.
Even though your ultimate goal in the business is to
make sales and sponsor people, you're much better off
to ask for just a small commitment upfront.
of 14941
Make connections first.
Build relationships through follow-up and then you can convert them into
members or distributors when they're ready to move forward.
of 14942
And let's remember that this is a relationship business.
Dr. Shaklee pulled the products from
retail stores for a reason.
He understood the power
of a personal advocate.
of 14943
We want systems that foster his original plan for person-to-person marketing.
of 14944
Make connections first.
Build relationships through follow up and then you can convert them into
members or distributors when they're ready to move forward.
So if Susan shouldn't drive traffic to her Shaklee PWS to find MindWorks leads,
then what should she do?
of 14945
The Lesson of Langley's Failure
The year was 1903.
On a small houseboat on the Potomac River, just weeks
before Wilbur and Orville Wright were to fly the world’s
first airplane
at Kitty Hawk, in North Carolina,
Samuel Pierpont Langley, a well-funded engineer and
inventor, was launching an airplane of his own— with the
assistance of an entire staff.
of 14947
Here's what Langley believed:
Put a big enough engine on the thing, and it will fly.
of 14948
He focused all his effort on that one project,
creating an engine powerful enough for the plane to go airborne.
of 14949
On October 7th, 1903, Langley tested his model for the very first time.
The plane crashed immediately after leaving the launch pad,
badly damaging the front wing.
Two months later, just eight days before the Wright Brothers’ successful flight, Langley made a second
attempt.
This time the tail and rear wing collapsed completely during launch.
of 14950
Langley was ridiculed by the press and criticized by members of the Congress
for throwing away taxpayer dollars on his failed projects.
Disillusioned by the public response, Langley abandoned his vision.
of 14951
Wilbur and Orville Wright, meanwhile, had a completely different approach:
build a glider that would glide from a hilltop with no engine at all.
of 14952
They focused their energy on balance and steering.
Power was almost an afterthought.
of 14953
Only after the glider worked by itself would they try to put an engine on it.
After three years of tedious experimentation the glider was working well, so they commissioned bicycle shop
machinist Charlie Taylor to build them an engine.
It was the smallest engine he could design—a 12-horsepower unit
that weighed 180 pounds.
of 14954
And on December 17, 1903, at Kitty Hawk, North Carolina,
Wilbur and Orville Wright made history.
The Wright brothers changed the world and became famous historical figures,
while few have ever heard of Mr. Langley.
Their approach of making the plane fly before applying high power
was the winning idea.of 14955
This brings me back to Susan's desire to get on Google.
You see, a search engine is the motor.
of 14956
Your website is the glider.
of 14957
A motor without a good set of wings does you no good.
When you put an engine on a glider, you have a plane.
of 14958
If Susan could feed traffic to a website that can “fly,” she'd be set.
of 14959
So what kind of website does Susan need to find those MindWorks leads and fly?
of 14960
The website that helps you fly
When I re-launched my business in San Diego in 2005, I didn't
know anyone.
I also lived far away from town about 15 minutes out of
Escondido and I had no car of my own.
of 14962
I couldn't just cruise around and bump into people and try to recruit them.
When I did try that in the local malls, I got kicked out.
of 14963
I still tried to talk to everyone I met at gas stations,
the waitresses at restaurants and the sales people at the Fry's
Electronics and Nordstroms.
of 14964
The results from that were
minimal.
of 14965
And trying to build a network I could tap into in San
Diego would take me some time.
Time which I can ill afford.
of 14966
What I was really lacking was a good system to
generate leads.
of 14967
My location also meant I needed to consider using the Internet to
help me get leads, or it would take me forever to grow at the
pace I was going.
of 14968
I looked around at what other Shaklee distributors were doing at the time and
most of them were creating content-heavy websites.
They'd set up a website and stuff it full of everything they could find on Shaklee.
of 14969
And then I remembered Zack Chang.
He was one of the first business builders
my dad had found online using this
simple little website we rented.
of 14970
The website had this short little movie
that gave a little bit of information and
asked the visitor to submit their details
if they wanted more info.
of 14971
Unlike the content sites most distributors were using,
it was a very simple website and the user had very few options.
Take more action or move on.
This was called a lead capture site.
of 14972
Eventually, we went on to create our own and it enabled me to generate enough leads.
I could contact and follow up with to go from 0 to over 4000 PV in less than six months all
from my brother's spare room, in a foreign country with no car of my own.
of 14973
And that's the same kind of site I recommended Susan or
any distributor for that matter to use to find leads for
MindWorks.
of 14974
The beauty of lead capture, is that your conversion rate is much higher because
you're not asking
for a big commitment.
People make small commitments before big ones.
of 14975
Kissmetrics reports that between 10% and 70% of visitors will sign up to receive free
information that helps them understand or solve their problems.
of 14976
So the visitors you'd normally be losing forever when they visit your
Shaklee PWS or traditional content site, are now being captured.
of 14977
By asking for an opt-in on the first contact, rather than a sale,
you have a decent chance of starting a process that will
ultimately end in a sale.
of 14978
And if this is connected to an email marketing system,
you have the potential to be able to follow up on them
for years.
of 14979
And when all those people come snooping around after
watching the Dr. Phil show,
many of them won't be ready to buy either.
They'll be curious and want more information.
of 14980
But here's the problem.Susan doesn't have a Lead Capture site for MindWorks.
Nor does she have the essential component which really
makes a lead capture site work: the lead magnet.
of 14981
The lead magnet is the irresistible freebie you offer your web
visitors in exchange for their contact details.
It could be an e-book, video, report, newsletter, free
membership or some other giveaway.
of 14982
So I had a meeting with my team and asked if we could create a
Lead Capture system for Susan and any Shaklee Distributor
interested in having one, in less than a month.
of 14983
It took us 10 months to launch our 7 Big Secrets to Weight
Loss system for finding 180 leads
So it seemed unlikely that we could pull this off in such a short
period of time.
of 14984
But we pulled together and I'm excited
to announce…

We also wanted a way to embed multiple links to

How to Follow up and
Convert Your Leads
The fortune is in the follow-up!
This is such a popular phrase in business, someone has even made it their Facebook page name.
of 149109
The problem most distributors face
is that they're the only ones managing
their business.
They have no helpers who can ensure
is taken care of nor do they use
help them either.
of 149110
So unfortunately for most, it just
doesn't get done.
Or if they can manage to do it, it's often
erratic, unfocused and only done with
they're actively communicating with 1
of 149111
But what about the rest of your leads?
of 149112
That's a lot of missed opportunities because you're not
able to keep connected to leads in their various stages
of exploration.
The answer we found is to have an
email marketing system.
of 149113
But isn't email marketing dead?
In November 2011, Mark Zuckerberg
email was dead.
He claimed that Facebook messaging
had killed it.
of 149114
Email is not dead.
It never was. In fact, as Jay Baer pointed out in his
Social Fresh presentation on Facebook and email, you have to have
an email address to sign up for a Facebook account.
No email, no Facebook.
of 149115
5 main reasons it’s so effective:
1. Everyone uses email.
2. Email is personal.
3. Perfect for follow-up.
4. Email scales as your business grows.
5. You can control who sees your messages.
of 149116
Ian Brodie, author of the book
Email Persuasion says:
“Email is, without doubt, the most
powerful marketing tool available in
business today.”
of 149117
It's also one of the most popular activities on people's smart phones.
of 149118
1. Written with a friendly tone
2. Educates and entertains
3. Sells by educating
4. Looks professional, builds confidence
5. Uses some images, and looks okay if images won't show
6. Text is easy to read, with bolding and spacing
11 elements that make great follow-up emails
of 149119
7. Personalized
8. Connects to your social media profiles
9. Has multiple calls to action (CTA)
10. Asks your readers to engage
11. Responsive and looks great on smartphones
11 elements that make great follow-up emails
of 149120
Once we've captured our leads’ information,
we don't want to just sit and hope they'll eventually
take some action by reading our follow-up emails alone.
And if we're not requesting a phone number,
there's no way to follow up with your leads one-on-one,
unless you've been able to connect with them on Facebook.
of 149121
So what do we do?
of 149122
Webinars!
of 149123
Here's 7 reasonswebinars are so
effective
1. They help us build our lists
of 149125
2. They allow a higher
level of rapport.
of 149126
3. They offer a high level of interaction.
of 149127
4. No geographical restrictions
of 149128
5. You can educate and promote to lots of people at
once.
of 149129
6. Your leads can hear
your
enthusiasm and
passion.
of 149130
7. High conversion rate
131 of 149131
Facebook expert, Mari Smith writes:
Live webinars are the next best thing to in-
person contact.
of 149132
Sherrie Rose & Jim Kukral,
authors of the book The Webinar Way,
write that webinars are the single most effective way to promote your
business, drive leads and sell a ton of products.
of 149133
Experts have reported that webinars have the
highest conversion rate for online promotions.
Many see results as high as 20% compared to a
website which averages 3% in the health and beauty sector.

What's the catch?
Now you may wonder where's the catch?
Why are we giving away something we could easily
charge $20 or $30 a month for?
of 149136
1. We want to give back to the field.
2. We want to test lead capture pages in the Shaklee PWS.
3. My own family's organization can benefit.
