Diagnostic Medical Sonography
Diagnostic medical sonographer provides care using medical
ultrasound to diagnose the diseases and medical conditions. There
are different types of courses that come under this field, provided
by many training centres, topmost of them is New York Medical
Career Training Center.
Musculoskeletal Sonography Course
This course has basic techniques of scanning,characteristics for
study of the reproductive organs, abnormal parts. Neonatal hip,
neonatal echocardiography, neonatal spinal column associated
pathology are included in the curriculum of 35 hours.
Breast Sonography Course
This course is usually of 45 hours. It has scanning techniques,
image orientation scan plane, transducer preparation, ultrasound of
breast pathologies.
Neck Sonography Course
The course has image orientation transducer plane and scan
plane, and the pathologies associated with thyroid and parathyroid,
and the appearance of pathologies. This course is of 45 hours.
Gynecology Course
The course contains scanning techniques, evaluation of pancreas,
kidneys, liver, gall bladder, thyroid, prostate gland, biliary
tree, GYN etc. the normal characteristics for checking reproductive
organs, and abnormal organs are also taught in this 130 hour
course.
