• Better able to reach underserved groups and identify local needs

• Community led solutions which sustain long-term health and wellbeing

• There were long waiting lists and patients were unhappy with the service

• We talked to patients, and involved them in the redesign of the services

• Waiting lists have reduced, patient satisfaction is higher than ever, clinical outcomes have improved, and patients feel listened to

• We are adopting the same approach for other scheduled care services: opthalmology, and dermatology

“Patients were listened to and are at the centre of the redesign services.

Significant changes have been made which will bring positive outcomes for local people like myself with long term chronic pain and inflammatory/arthritic conditions. The spinal drop-in clinic which was developed is a fabulous idea”. Jules Wall, a Patient

with chronic pain and arthritis

“I like the fact that they can see me using the web cam, unlike other services that assess you over the phone“.
