The American Psychological Society estimates that stress at work costs businesses as much as $300 billion each year through lost productivity, increased sickness and absenteeism. Here are some tips to keep stress in check:

1.) Create a productive work environment

• Organize your space. Just seeing clutter can trigger a stress response.

• Minimize interruptions such as email by dedicating specific times to respond.

• Use you schedule to your advantage. Schedule meetings when you are at your best and pencil in some down time to recover.

2.) Bring the right attitude

• Set realistic and attainable goals• Take control of what you can• Prioritize tasks from most important to least

important• Avoid self-imposed stress
