Currently, Punita V. Solanki is a Consultant Occupational Therapist at NM Medical and a Visiting Therapist for a BPO, in Malad West, Mumbai,

Maharashtra, India. She is also a Freelance Occupational Therapist in the Western Suburbs of Mumbai and a Freelance Research Editor since 2015-2016.

She attained her Masters Degree in Occupational Therapy in Orthopaedic Conditions in the year 1998 at Seth GS Medical College & King Edward VII

Memorial (KEM) Hospital, from Mumbai University. She also pursued an Advanced Diploma in Clinical Research with first rank, in the year 2013, from

Academy of Clinical Excellence (ACE), Mumbai, Maharashtra, India.

She has an experience of more than 19 years in the field of Occupational Therapy and Musculoskeletal Rehabilitation. After her post-graduation, she

gained experience at Bai Jerbai Wadia Hospital for Children and at Seth GS Medical College & KEM Hospital, Mumbai, as a Clinical Occupational

Therapist, Lecturer and then Assistant Professor from June, 1998 to January, 2013. During her service at this Institute, she also served as a Member of

Committee for Academic Research Ethics (CARE) for a period of one year. At this teaching institute, she was Maharashtra University recognized

undergraduate and post-graduate teacher and an examiner. She had been a teacher and dissertation guide for undergraduate and post-graduate students of

Occupational Therapy for 12 years. Later, she tried her hands in private practice career for about one year and four months, from March, 2013 to July,

2014, at a multi-specialty hospital and nursing homes in the Western Suburbs of Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. She also worked for a period of one year at

Capita India Private Limited in Knowledge Services Department from May, 2014 to May, 2015, as a Senior Associate.

She has authored two books on Multiple Choice Questions in Occupational Therapy. Additionally, she has a total of ten national and international journal

publications/conference proceeding to her credit. She was a Scientific Committee Member for OTICON’2007 & OTICON’2017 held at Indore, & Jaipur,

respectively. She has served as Review Board Member and Assistant Editor for Indian Journal of Occupational Therapy (IJOT) from May, 2012 to March,

2016. She is an Associate Editor, IJOT from April, 2016 to March, 2020. She is a Reviewer for Journal of Medical Thesis, Indian Journal of Pain, Journal

of Novel Physiotherapy and Physical Rehabilitation etc. She is an EC Member of Society for Hand Therapy, India, from September, 2014 to September,

2019. She has served as a Chairperson for Scientific Committee, Chairperson for Scientific Sessions & Editor of the Souvenir for the 4th Annual National

Conference of Society for Hand Therapy, India, held on 12th and 13th December, 2015 at Pune, Maharashtra, India.

She had certifications as Youth Fitness Trainer from International Sports Sciences Association, Level I Mat Foundation Pilates Teacher

by Pilates Institute of America & Thera-Band Academy Instructor. She has gained experience in organizing workshops, as a faculty for

workshops and as a judge and reviewer for conference papers. She is a Life Member of AIOTA and a Member of many other National Associations.

She takes keen interest in orthopedic (musculoskeletal) rehabilitation, preventive health education, primary and secondary clinical research.
