Wellness Throughout Life The winterum “Wellness Choices”

course has helped me progress and grow into a better person in such a vast amount of ways.

Primarily, this is due to the fact that the class has brought the topic of wellness and healthy living into the forefront of my mind each day.

For the first time in a long time, the purposeful goal of achieving overall wellness (and all ,six, equally balanced dimensions of health that wellness truly embodies) throughout my life is now a dream I am finally able to bring to life.

Slowly but surely- I am accomplishing progress day by day, through hard work, focus and a positive perspective!

Physical Wellness I plan to exercise three to four

times a week to relieve my body of physical stress and in order to help my body better deal with sleeping issues at night.

Every time I work out (3-4 times a week) I plan to get at least forty-five minutes of vigorous cardio activity/ exercise work-out completed!

I plan to get a minimum of eight hours sleep every night so that my body can be well rested, strong and mentally aware/ alert!

My goal is currently to eat more veggies and fruits and consume less caffeine, sugars and processed foods.

Environmental/ Occupational Wellness I plan on becoming a teacher

because… I immensely enjoy it as it is my life passion, and I receive great happiness and joy by helping other people.

I plan to always learn more about the world around me each day so that I can continue to understand it more (as well as the earth’s needs, our/ my – individual role in it, and the universal/ global needs of the people living within it), and thus increase my ability/ likelihood of bettering it for the next generation of mankind that is our future!

My goal is to pick up more trash on the streets near where I live in Rhode Island- to better my community!

Spiritual Wellness I will continue to meditate for

thirty minutes at least once a day.

I will spend more time working on developing good karma and inner peace through positive choices.

Always, I never let myself forget that sometimes, learning to ignore things is essential tool needing in reaching peace within yourself.

My goal for 2014 is to begin to start attending the church-orchestrated yoga class my mom goes to (since she is always asking me to go) and to pray more .

Social WellnessMy goal for this new year is to

move back home and get a new job. Therefore, I also plan on making a lot of new friends, as well as reuniting with some old friends!

I will be always try my best to be confident in social settings and be sociable during down time at work.

Always remain calm and keep a positive outlook towards others. Remember forgiveness is key for growth.

Emotional Wellness I will continue to not abuse alcohol and

drugs in order to maintain a healthy emotional state

Laugh more and keep smiling. My goal is to laugh for no less than one whole minute, in the start and end of each day.

I plan on surrounding myself with emotionally (and overall/ in general) supportive people who relatively understand who I really am and my situation with my mom’s terminal illness.

My goal is to cherish each second of life as much as possible by learning how to progress into the best possible version of myself I can be, and to accept myself (as well as others) for who I (/they) truly am (/are).

Maintain my personal being’s characteristic of authenticity, sense of humanity/ empathy for others, and all healthy (as well as effective ) forms/ habits of communication/ self expression.

Mental/ Intellectual Wellness I plan on watching the news more

and reading the paper as much as I possibly can, in order to further inform myself of current happenings impacting our world.

Feverishly feed the flame of curiosity as if my brain depended on it.

My goal is to progress towards reaching enlightenment by reading more-reading for fun again!

Continue to hunt online resources, utilize modern, cutting edge technologies and be as creative as possible– so I can make the act of learning enjoyable, interesting and even irresistible to my students as well as myself; the teacher!
