mouth, which are sent to a dental laboratory. Upon receiving the veneer, the dentist will remove a thin layer of the patient’s tooth enamel that matches the typical thickness of the veneer. The dentist will also remove extraneous material and use a special light to bond the cemented veneer to the tooth. 

Veneers generally last from five to 10 years. Good oral hygiene - brushing, flossing, and using a mouthwash - works for them as it does for natural teeth.
