INTRODUCTION
Skeletal and Muscular Systems works together for the efficient biomechanics of the body.
The Skeletal System is a framework for the Muscular.
Biomedical devices assists the systems when applicable
MUSCULAR SYSTEMSKELETAL SYSTEM
360 bones in body when born
206 bones in body when you are about 10 or 20
Movement Rigidity, Shape and Protection of vital organs
Muscles are bundles of cells and fibres
630 Muscles in body when born.
Flexibility and articulation
Voluntary (leg) or Involuntary (heart)
Skull protects your brain. If you didn’t have any bones you’d be a big blob. Your backbone helps you stand up straight too. The heart muscles pumps tirelessly throughout our entire life. The bones are held in shape by the Muscles.
BIOMEDICAL DIAGNOSIS
Electromyography (EMG) is an electrodiagnostic medicine technique for evaluating and recording the electrical activity produced by skeletal muscles. EMG is performed using an instrument called an electromyograph, to produce a record called an electromyogram.
EMG results can reveal nerve dysfunction, muscle dysfunction or problems with nerve-to-muscle signal transmission.
BIOMEDICAL DIAGNOSIS
An x-ray (radiograph) is a noninvasive medical test that helps physicians diagnose and treat medical conditions. Imaging with x-rays involves exposing a part of the body to a small dose of ionizing radiation to produce pictures of the inside of the body. X-rays are the oldest and most frequently used form of medical imaging.
Sciencetechdaily
Biomedical engineers from Duke University have grown living skeletal muscle that demonstrates the ability to heal itself both inside the laboratory and inside an animal
CONCLUSION
The Skeletal and Muscular System works together to achieve the greatSuccess of mechanics.
Malfunction or Dysfunction of this systems can be monitored by proper diagnostics tool with the help of biomedicine.
Treatment, Therapy, and Rehabilitation methods have been developed by bioengineers to enhance the success of these systems where failure is observed.
BME students (US) and researches are working, reading, researching and experimenting tirelessly for the greater success of our failing systems.
