• Using a special centrifuge (e.g. Cytospin); the blood spreads on the slide in a mono-layer.

Staining • Romanowsky Stains: Leishman’s Stain May-Grunwald-Giemsa Stain Jenner’s Stain Wright’s Stain

• Principle? Acidic elements in the cell (e.g. nucleus proteins and nucleic acids of cell nucleus) + Basic dye (Azure-B)

Basic elements such as (Hb) + Acidic dye (Eosin-Y)
