Periodontal surgery NYC: Socket Grafting in the Posterior Maxilla Reduces the Need for Sinus Augmentation Periodontal Surgery NYC: Socket Grafting and Sinus Augmentation In the aid of periodontal surgery NYC, this research endeavored to explore whether socket grafting – the filling of a tooth socket with soft tissue, demineralized and freeze-dried bone particles and irradiated bone – reduces the need for sinus augmentation for the purpose of dental implants. Sinus augmentation is a surgical procedure whereby the soft tissue and sinus membrane are carefully peeled away from the upper jaw bone at the back of the mouth to reveal the maxilla. Bone grafting periodontal surgery is then performed on the area to provide support for dental implants. Patients can take anywhere between three to six months to properly heal.
