ABOUT PROGRAM

Age - 55 to 75 years.

They were very happy, looking forward to something new. Dr. Meena Shah talked about aging with grace and good health, importance of healthy eating ,

and keeping busy physically and psychologically. Since emotional problems are key issue in old age homes we talked about how to relate better with

everyone and keep oneself gainfully occupied. She talked to them on what to eat and what to avoid because many of them were suffering from diabetes,

B.P and Cholesterol.

Dr. Amrish Parikh , himself above 75, gave examples from his life, his ability to live life fully, and living with purpose. So all participants could identify with

him.

Ms. Pragna Shah, taught them sitting down stretches, simple pranayams, simple breathing relaxation. So all in all, when we left everybody was very happy,

very excited and ready to take on life.

Namaste LIFE's Very First Program For Public Was Presented By Dr Meena Shah Attended By More Than 100 Couples.

Extremely Live And Interactive Program Which Covered Important Matters On Importance Of Remaining Healthy And Family's

Role In Creating And Sustaining Healthy Lifestyle Patterns.

Dr Meena Shah Focused On Subjects Like Health As Total Concept, Healthy Lifestyle, Healthy Eating In Families For Health And

Pleasure, Stress Management And Family's Role, Raising Healthy - Happy Children And Many More Aspects.

Everyone Enjoyed Video Clips On Imp Subjects Like Managing Emotions, Stress Management, Healthy Food Pyramid Cholesterol

And Its Control Etc.

ABOUT PROGRAM

Program organized with women and child development cell. More than 50 women working in different areas of Gujarat participated in

program.

Dr meena shah addressed them about power of women to make difference in health and wellness in families and society. Participants

reached out to many other women regularly and communicated to then about gender issues. Dr meena shah helped them to improve

their understanding about healthy lifestyle, food habits, fitness, cleanliness, positive gynec health, child care etc. And communicate

effectively to many in villages.

Ms naini shah taught simple stretching and relaxation techniques to practice at personal level and teach other women

At any age, one needs to stay healthy and live happily. Dr. Qureshi, talked about importance of healthy life, getting up early, choosing to eat healthy, having more water, fruits and vegetables and eating little but frequently as per lifestyle, health and age. Dr. Qureshi also taught them some simple yogasanas, how to relax and energise their body and mind any time with very interactive discussion. So all in all, program, had a very good response and we are looking forward for more programs.

5. SHRIMATI MANIBEN TRIBHOVANDAS MATRUGRUHA

Started with prayer, then Dr Meena Shah talked on importance of healthy living, healthy eating, positive attitude, relating better with each other and

enjoyment of facilities provided, like beautiful place, greenery etc. They were very active, talkative and enjoyed discussions. She also talked about

simple exercises to keep joints flexible and better care with increasing age for remaining healthy and active.

Dr. Vinubhai Patel, himself above 70, and very active , talked about positive thinking. He made them repeat what they will do every day. He gave

examples of what they can eat easily, need to take care of body from head to toe for better life. We enjoyed conducting the program, and the

women were looking forward to the next program.

Ahmedabad Management Program-WORK LIFE BALANCE FOR ALL, key issue today, as people spend 80-90% of energy and time at work and miss out on important aspects like care of health, wellness, fitness, family life and hobbies.

Living balanced life gives one more ability to excel in professional and personal life. Dr. Meena Shah gave very lively enjoyable, participant oriented and interactive presentation with very interesting video clips which was appreciated by many. They also got many tips on Stress Management and Work Life Balance through Audio Visual Presentation.

Ms. Naini Shah, Life Style Management Coach showed simple relaxation technique and energetic chair exercises which are useful for all.

Dr. Mehboob Quereshi gave tips and quick ideas for concentration, focus and Stress Management. All in all, AMA program was a big success which was attended by more than 150 people.

Dr. Meena Shah, Ms. Naini Shah and Ms Sachi Shah conducted programs at three separate venues. The innovative thing was some of the husbands

participated in the healthy cooking competition, making sandwiches and salads in specified time, which we had to taste and quote a price. Everybody

thoroughly enjoyed these exercises. We talked to couples on importance of family as a source of good health, how children can be prevented from

picking up wrong eating habits, importance of exercises, emotional wellness, and managing life with family's support. We also had very interesting slide

and video presentation on healthy eating. We talked on balanced nutrition using simple measures like glass, spoons, katoris, plates for number of

servings. How proteins, carbohydrates, fats, vitamins, minerals, water, fibre in daily food can be easily managed. Shopping and planning for meals. Aga

Khan's program was a big success

Dr Meena Shah first talked to them about their role in creating healthy and happy personality for themselves, developing confidence, caring for their

health thro' simple & practical positive habits of cleanliness and hygiene, daily exercises, health eating etc. She also talked about menstrual hygiene

and care they need to take.

She also motivated them to develop positive attitude decide to choose to take action and do 3 things as soon as they wake up, pray and begin day. One

action for remaining physically healthy, one for mental development and emotional stability and one for studies.

The hall was full of talkative ,noisy girls, and we thoroughly enjoyed doing the program. Dr. Meena Shah talked to them at a level they could

understand and the girls participated 100%. She talked on importance of positive attitude, waking up with a purpose, planning to stay

healthy, happy, and study well. Because girls tend to get upset, angry, moody she taught them how to release anger in two minutes and

talk effectively. She taught the importance of hygienic food and good diet using simple measures at home, with motivation for taking 2/3

small but positive actions like eating more fruits, doing simple exercises, drinking milk or relating better with parents, brothers and sisters.

Mrs. Pragna Shah, who is a Yoga expert and nutrition expert, explained what to eat and what to avoid, also cleanliness and hygiene. She

made them do on the spot jogging, simple exercises and, simple aerobics, which they did with lots of joy and laughter. So all in all, the girls

were very happy and principal Dr. Diwan also gave very good feed back.

Namaste Life Program At Gender Resource Centre For Capacity Building Of MPWWCs Social Workers And Legal Advisors To Promote Wellness In Villages In Gujarat.

Dr Meena Shah Conducted Training For More than 35 newly recruited women participated with lots of interest and enthusiasm.

She made women share their important role as workers working for many women in villages.

How they can take care of their own health, vitality & wellness thro' daily actions, positive attitude, and simple lifestyle changes for themselves and their families.

Once they are grounded and practicing healthy, nutrition, simple exercises, hygiene and cleanliness and positive gynec care.

All participants learnt and practiced simple exercises and learnt to manage their stress and emotional upsets in daily life.

All in all it was very useful program for ALL participants and very satisfying for Namaste LIFE to reach many women in many villages thro' MPWWCs workers.

Eating & health are connected & family plays very important role in our life in our attitude, understanding , likes/ dislikes, habits and daily choices about

food.

Dr Meena Shah took special sessions for sports club families to interact, empower and practice simple, useful and most interesting ways to have

'HEALTHY AND HAPPY EATING PATTERNS'

Program started with concept of holistic eating experience ( physical, emotional, social, finanacial and spiritual perspectives ).

Lots of practical tips were promoted for choosing foods that are balanced, tasty, fresh and enjoyable to practice.

Video demonstration about healthy cooking was done & recipes were found to be very easy to make but likable by whole family.

What, when, why and how of healthy eating was highlight of program. All in all it was very special and unique program enjoyed.

The programee went very well. the girls and boys were enthusiastic about the information given to them. i talked about nourishing food and

personal hygiene and food habits. I talked on healthy positive habits of including fitness activitity in their day to day life. consume fruits

everyday. I insisted on regularity of exercise. 20 minutes of exercise will get them better fitness. and increase their immunity. Talked how to

avoid junk food. and increase hdealthy food habits.No T. V during eating time. The programme was like an eye opener for them. How by

regular study they can increase their self esteem.

simple & practical positive habits of cleanliness and hygiene, daily exercises, health eating etc. She also talked about menstrual hygiene and care they need to take.

remaining physically healthy, one for mental development and emotional stability and one for studies.

Dr Shachi Shah Made them practice exercises for whole body and taught made them do jogging on the spot. She made them do simple exercises for concentration

and memory.

Program was huge success and we will go back in six months to do follow up program.

Program for master trainers, who are going to train teachers from 260 schools across Gujarat for taking up physical fitness

classes for children in systematic fashion and regularly so that children develop good habits and grow up to be fit and healthy

adults.

Participants consisted of doctors working in social and preventive medicine, teachers and people from NGOs.

Dr meena Shah addressed them on important issues on :

Health as total concept ( physical, mental, emotional, occupational , social and spiritual health & wellness.

They understood about creating vision on health for themselves & help many teachers to communicate on healthy lifestyle

patterns for themselves and spread messages to many children.

Emotional wellness and stress management were very well appreciated very much by all master trainers.

At Namaste Life we are happy to work with master trainers to reach many school children in Gujarat.

Everyone Including The Teachers Enjoyed The Program And Want To Have More Such Programs.

ABOUT PROGRAM

Second program from series of program on promoting health and wellness for sports club families was on very special subject of stress and

emotion management.

People from different walks of life ( students, senior government officials, house wife, teachers, retired couples and executives participated in

program which made it very live with many different questions and varied points of views.

Dr Meena Shah did very live A-V presentations on facts about stress, emotions and their effects on health and life. Her presentation was

focused on understanding self and managing daily life events and relationships with balanced emotions and improving abilities to manage

stress before it comes at the level of interpretations & staying physically and psychologically FIT.

Mrs Pragna Shah, taught progressive relaxation and taught special 'mantra meditation technique' to release negative emotions and stress from

mind body system.

Ms Naini Shah agve lucid explanation of connection between stress, emotions and breathing and also taught simple but very useful breathing

relaxation technique and made everyone practice chanting 'OMKAR'

'Women's health and wellness and women's role in family's health'

Program jointly organized by' BAPS' and Namaste LIFE for more than 150 women of age group from 17 to 45 years.

Women tend to ignore their health due to many reasons and shortage of time, but when women are not healthy, in good mood and energetic

they can never do well for their families too. But when one woman learns and starts taking positive actions for healthy eating habits in

family, managing happy and communicative relationships, takes care of children with more know how on health and wellness and also

works in and out of home with energy and vitality, society moves forward and progresses faster.

Dr Meena Shah discussed on personal wellness and daily health care practices for women to work better / study well / lead high quality life

of purpose and truly help family to healthier and happier life.

Dr Meena shah's program covered imp facets of healthy life, positive attitude, hygiene and cleanliness and Mrs Pragna Shah explained

practical aspects of healthy eating in lucid manner and taught simple, enjoyable full body work out and aerobics session

kind to give free stall space for exhibiting Namaste LIFE's activities and purpose in this very live , vibrant and very well attended

affair inaugurated by Mrs Anandiben Patel, who visited our stall and appreciated exhibits.

Exhibition was visited by thousands of women and men, activities and exhibits consisted of :

When 200 students of 13-15 years attend program it is full of energy, enthusiasm and lots of 'masti – tofan'

Dr Meena Shah befriended them & got them thoroughly involved in program with lots of questions, interaction and active involvement. All

children went home with good learning for health as well as life.

It was very satisfying experience for us as well as all children and school authority to work on program that has very positive impact health

and life.

Main topics of 2 hour program :

She explained about developing habits for care and cleanliness of whole body. Everyone mimed how to wash hands, did simple eye exercises, hand & feet exercises etc. Children learnt about how to study with better retention power and more joy.

Dr Minjan Patel took them to ground in front of school and made them do jogging and stretching exercises for whole body. Teachers were involved in communication, so that they can continue talking about daily health care.

This was Namaste LIFE's second program at vikas Grih ( orphanage & school for girls ) & Dr Minjan Patel dis very good program for girls of –

standard.

Girls were very naïve and innocent about many things about health, hygiene & fitness in daily life. These are basic needs for life and health

and right guidance can make difference in their life.

Dr Patel made program very live, interactive and enjoyable so girls learnt well and made promise to practice simple things in daily life. Since

all girls live in Vikas Grih itself, repeated programs + involvement with each other for health care habits.

Dr Kirit shah very renowned orthopedic surgeon gave very live and interesting talk on keeping joints healthy supple and mobile with

increasing age, and role of exercises, good posture and healthy diet for same. He answered to participants queries which were many ( with all

of them above 65 and many having problems with knee joints, back and shoulder joints ).

Dr Shah also gave many practical tips on check ups, medication & keeping mobile for life. Osteoporosis, its prevention, diagnosis care and

treatment were discussed in lucid manner and he also promised to check them in details at his hospital on voluntarily basis.

Dr Shachi Shah physiotherapist, showed everyone simple stretching exercises for all joints + specific exercises and posture care related to

specific joint problems.

All in all it was great program liked by all and very useful for Jivansandhya inmates, who are looking forward to many such programs and

activities for better health and better LIFE.
