COPD refers to a group of lung diseases that block the airflow and make breathing difficult. It is a progressive disease.

Emphysema and chronic bronchitis are the two most common conditions that make up COPD.

Symptoms of COPD don’t appear until significant lung damage has happened. As the disease gets worse, symptoms usually get more severe.
