ABOUT US APMAR was founded in 1984 in Lecce with the aim of gathering

and supporting people suffering from rheumatic diseases (rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, arthritis, systemic, lupus erythematosus, crohn's disease, osteoporosis, extraarticular rheumatism, Behcet's syndrome, Scleroderma, Sjogren's syndrome, fibromyalgia syndrome, ankylosing, spondylitis, and others);

A.P.M.A.R. board is made up of people with rheumatic diseases;

It has now reached 3,000 members and has offices all over Italy in the regions of Puglia, Calabria, Abruzzo. On 30 May there will be the opening of our new office in Rome.

MISSION

Our mission is to give visibility and strength to people suffering from rheumatic diseases by

ensuring that these diseases find the right dignity and attention among public opinion and

political class.

OUR ACTIVITIES Pediatric rheumatology diseases project: we aim at filling the big gap existing

in Italy where there are only few specialized centers to early diagnose and treat these rare pediatric diseases!

Project for a Psychological support in rheumatic diseases; We cooperate with the Rheumatology Department; We created a National Scientific Committee formed by experts of all

specialties that relate to rheumatic diseases; Eupati – A.P.M.A.R has joined the European Patients' Academy on

Therapeutic Innovation whose aim is to provide to patients widespread, objective and trustworthy information on pharmaceutical R&D.

A.P.M.A.R every year participates to: 29 June World Scleroderma Day 12 October World Arthritis Day

A.P.M.A.R. takes part in international, national, regional and local conferences both as speaker and as sponsor focused on patients involvement and protection, rheumatic diseases and pharmaceutical R&D .

SMARTPHONE APPLICATIONAn app for rheumatoid arthritis

APMAR has developed this tool for people suffering from rheumatoid arthritis: a “personal assistant” in order to manage medicines, visits and exams.
