People Learning About Nature in Tayport
Gardening sub-group of Tayport Community Trust
The Trust was established in 2008 to promote a vibrant & sustainable community, with improved quality of life, allowing everyone the opportunity to fulfil their social aspirations.
PLANT is working to achieve this goal through projects which involve growing food and flowers, while enhancing Tayport’s natural environment.
Community growing groups are multiplying across
Scotland and the UK …. and internationally
Community growing is great for:
people
places
and the planet!
include everyone from young children to older people
get people growing and using produce, reducing food miles
offer the chance to learn, teach and share gardening skills
provide mixed growing spaces and community plots
bring people together at outdoor community events
promote health and wellbeing
enhance the natural environment
contribute to biodiversity
A circular route from Harbour Café via West Lights, Scotscraig Drive and Spears Hill, with magnificent views over the Tay. As with all our projects, local residents were consulted and their views taken into account.
